Mark Ogden @MOgdenTelegraph 6m6 minutes ago Quique Sanchez Flores keen to take Victor Valdes to Watford, but still some work to do on that...#mufc
If there is anything in this would Valdes come to us to sit on the bench? Surely we wouldn't drop Gomes and loan out Arlauskis....
Maybe the latest strand of QSF's ultra cautious, defensive approach is to play two keepers in the side?
I expect it's not true, but wouldn't be overly surprised. The 'model' seems to be that if a better value for money player is available they'll go for it, regardless of anything else. Certainly we may have enquired, even if we were immediately put off by wage demands.
Jesus Christ that's what every journalist in the country says, [insert manager name] wants to bring 'player x' to.....
In Europe it's always been the clubs that decide the buying of the players not the manager/head coach & it's going that way over here. Not sure the journos have cottoned on yet.
Would there be something about this that there are some opportunities you can't deny a player even when contracted? Man U, Barca, Real..? By this I don't mean a move to WFC for Valdes FTAOD.
I would love this to happen if only for people to justify dropping Gomes for a bloke who has won 'countless tiles and silverware' despite being utter Barry White.
Would be a very positive signing. Bags of experience, won multiple trophies with the possibility of teaching the youngsters in the future. Perhaps he could get his badges here. Could also be made captain. As for Gomes, he's not cut out for the PL I'm afraid.
I might head down to Loftus Rd this season for the game against Sheffield Wed so I can see my favourite Watford players play.
