Today is the first day that Pritler's Criminal Justice Act has come into force. And what is the first act under the powers to ban "noisy and annoying protest"? Confiscating Brexit Shouty Man Steve Bray's speaker and serving him with a summons. The police have since been following him around all day (5 or 6 of them) presumably to ensure he doesn't find a new way of making a noise. Now, he may annoy the hell out of you and you might be thinking "thank god someone has shut him up" but in the context of the direction this country is heading, I find this very sinister indeed.
A Government and its supporters, that whinge endlessly about ‘cancel culture’ if they and their many lapdogs in the media get reasonable criticism, have now cancelled everyone else.
This may have backfired spectacularly. Quite gratifying watching his fundraiser tick up - nearly £100k. https://fundrazr.com/d1h707?ref=fb_19QHve_ab_93YMujDjWeO93YMujDjWeO
Yes, extremely gratifying for his lawyers, who will no doubt be externally grateful for their loot coming their way.
Can I just point out that I'm very anti bono - I think he's a right **** & even more so with all those scurrilous and seditious rumours about his behaviour after the suicide of Ian Curtis.
This is very sinister. Has he been released yet? Has anyone found out where he is being held? Has Amnesty managed to get in touch with him? Has he sought medical help for his mental health, following six years of shouting at the air with an amplifier? Did he manage to prevent Brexit?
