On the Radio today they had an article about living to a 1,000 years old, but they said once you have hit 29 years old it is all down hill, nice knowing you folks bye.

Birdy fades into the sunset waving and smiling.:)

Oh no 17 is not a good age! Cant legally drink and when you look like a 13 year old you cant even try to pretend you are 18!! Been there done that!

Growing up in Denmark, we started getting drunk at the weekends at 13 or 14. Just went to the shop and bought wine, Appel Schnaps etc.

Now the legal age for buying alcohol at shops 15. In bars it's 18 still.

Anyways - being 34 now, those days have passed and drinking is now medicinal rather than recreational

is it true that alcohol prices in denmark, and scandinavia on the whole, are ridiculously high?

Dont even want to think about how old I am. If I ignore it it might go away.

Growing old is mandatory - growing up is optional.;)

In Sweden and Norway it is not true.

In Denmark prices are very cheap compared to the UK - at least when buying it at the shop.

A bottle (70 cl) of no frills vodka is around 5 quid.

A bottle (33 cl) of no frills lager is around 25p.

When at the pub prices are a lot higher. A pint of Carlsberg lager is around 2½-3 quid and upwards.

So cheap alcohol and a low drinking age equals a good place to grow up ;o)

Not too different from Finland, although its only recently that prices have come down, espcially beer in shops. Its still faily expensive to drink in bars probably £3.50 a pint.
Also if you want to buy anything other than normal strength beer (Wine, spirits, super tennants!) you have to go to one of the government run off-licences, of which there aren't many, probably only one in each town.

I'm 29. I like it. At least I'm not 30! That would be awful.

i just always heard that because of the strangely high suicide rates in the area, prices of alcohol were very high.

When I am 50 we will be premiership champions, when I am 51 we will be champions league winners, when I am 52 I'll be dead from partying to much at my age.

Dying is not a problem, its the bit between being born and dying that most people find difficult to handle.
