Abdi apparently plays for free as he has no real need for money.

As for Deeney, this reminds me of 2005 and the same thing with Helguson, when our star player eventually left for £1.5m (I think?)

How far we have come since then!

Abdi made a lot of money off of the dotcom boom.

Fair enough - be surprised if we paid that much though given its said the Pozzos don't like to pay out too much.

Deeney is probably the highest paid player, and rightly so; moving on.

Our sources understand that Leeds are ready to make a move for both Luciano Becchio & Troy Deeney if McCormack is sold #LUFC #WATFORDFC

    No chance!

Leeds are skint. Even with McCormack being sold they have little money and are currently asking the players to wash their own kit to save money. They need to sell McCormack to reduce their debt. According to a report this morning, their owner doesn't want to play Paddy Kenny because he was born on the 17th and 17 is "an unlucky number".

Deeney won't be on £22k a week, Di Natale isn't even on that much.

They've also closed the canteen at the training ground. So the players have to bring in their own packed lunch.

It's in as much Deeney's interests to be sold for a large fee as ours.

Reading their forum posts (Burnley) they don t think TD is worth more than 6m and most still think we are a selling club like the WFC of old so are saying 4.5m tops. It does amaze me how isolated peoples knowledge of our club is. One of the only clubs in the league to post a profit, no matter how small. But then I suppose I dont know that much about other clubs either. Whatever the bid though I cant see TD being interested in a move to Burnley, or any championship side whether WFC wanted to sell or not.

That means Poleon will openly be drinking human blood in front of his teammates?

    Worrying if true.

  21. IM-very humble-O Burnley will be extremely fortunate not to come straight back down. I know we said that about Palace but one swallow does not a summer make - the Prem is a very hard lesson for newly promoted sides.

I can see Troy considering many prem teams attractive but at Burnley it is a very realistic chance he could face expectation, harsh lessons, misery, change of manager, and relegation.

I think he's a better player than that and, if he does go, deserves a proper shot at the Prem

Do they want his right foot or his left?

I think it's too early to make those kind of judgements yet. Yes Burnley might (and according to the bookies will) get relegated and I'd rather see him go to a steadied Premier League side than a team that has just gone up (well I'd like him to stay but best of a bad bunch), but just like Palace Dyche could get sacked and a new manager could come in and keep Burnley up.

  24. It wasn't meant to sound judgemental, Burnley might survive they might not, but sure as eggs is eggs they will be in for a very tough season.

Deeney, if he goes, deserves a proper shot at it with a Stoke or a WBA or a Newcastle rather than a team which will struggle and drop or scrape through and survive.

Doesn't matter what they value him at its what we value him at that matters.

The club should slap a £10-12m price tag on him, tell Dyche to **** off and then we can all move on for the rest of the season. He's worth far more to the club staying and trying to get us into the prem than blowing the teams chance before the season even starts.

I actually think the Premier League is much worse than it used to be, or at least, the Championship is much better. In my opinion, the amount of organisation and quality required to get out of our league, is approximately what is required to stay up in the Premiership. Most of the talent and quality in the Prem has been reduced to 7 or 8 sides, and there are as many as 10 teams that could feasibly get relegated. Going to a club like Burnley for extended top-flight football is not the risky move it was 5/6 years ago.

He could go to a better/bigger team and end up sitting on the bench like Vydra. At least at Burnley he'd be the man.

With that said, they can do one with their £6million.

Some burnley fan is adamant we've given permission for burnley to speak to deeney after £7m bid was made this evening. Don't know how true this is, probably bollox

I just don't get it. Who would they replace him with? Other championship clubs would see us coming with the Deeney money, if we sold him.

  32. nisman94

    nisman94 International Man of Mystery

If I think I know who you're talking about I've already said on there that I can't see us selling him because it would almost nullify the point of getting Vydra and going for promotion. What I don't understand is why do fans of these clubs either think that:

    A) We're a selling club that's low on money and wouldn't mind seeing him leave
    B) If we're going to keep him, we'll be selling him back to Udinese (no joke, I've seen this written by some Burnley fans on their forum).

    It's effing ludicrous

Even if we do lose Troy this Summer, at least we will finally have a 4 sided ground!

  35. Vokes is out injured potentially getting on towards xmas, Southampton sniffing around Ings, Bryson choosing Derby over Burnley (suggests Dyche won't find it easy to bring people in).... Burnley have got to get someone/anyone in...

I'd offer them a season long loan of Ranegie for £3m.
