Thank goodness. Hopefully that’s the last we see of him as well. Need him to do well so they buy him.
Seems like Huddersfield announced it yesterday. https://www.htafc.com/news/2023/january/loan-joseph-hungbo-signs-for-town/
It's now on the official site. It's a shame how he's just gone backwards as a player. A couple of years ago I thought he'd be a good player for us, but he's been pants this season. I think he's too musclebound which is effecting his game. Just as at one point Deeney bulked up too much, I think he's done the same. Official: Hungbo Departs On Loan - Watford FC
All those muscles infecting his brain, stopping him from doing his defensive work or not running down blind alleys to nowhere. Another victim of the dreaded 'bulk' curse. We need an awareness campaign or something, for the good of the children.
Bit of a shame he's gone to a skint club. Would be good to send him somewhere where there was a prospect of making some money back in the event of a successful loan.
Just read their forum, yeah it’s suggesting he posted the rumour he heard and then he got threatened by the club. The club have denied that part, but apparently he has screen shots to prove it. The bit I care about is whether it was true, looks like there is potential it was true, but I’d imagine how it’s all blowing up that they will not want to go though with this one.
Whiteman is a good player, but for the fee involved (ie anything more than a packet of crisps), shouldn't we be trying to get cast-iron first-team quality? Not even sure he gets in our team now, let alone when Louza gets back
That’s because we are always spot on. The club deliberately walks away from deals just to try to rubbish the claims made in here. I gather Perotti had pen in hand when Gino decided to pull the plug just to spite this forum.
We could have Choudhury, Kone and Asprilla, with Louza and JP (if he counts, he certainly won't be competing for a place with Whiteman) lurking, rather we spend proper money on a striker
Preston's forum is about the most interesting thing to happen this season, it's hilarious. - Guy posts rumour from a 'dressing room source' that we're signing Whiteman. Then comes back on later saying that the club have revoked his ticket to the upcoming Spurs game and threatened him - Preston respond saying no truth in the rumour or that the fan had his ticket revoked - Fan says he has screenshots of the messages and they came from Peter Ridsdale. Other fans egg him on to leak them - Messages appear on Twitter, including the number that is supposed to be Ridsdale's - Club release another statement saying the messages weren't from Ridsdale and they've referred the matter to the police - Fans are furious, flinging abuse at the club hierarchy and arguing back and forth between themselves Top quality drama, we need to up our game on this forum!
You made a ridiculous statement that Whiteman wouldn't get in our team now. He's at least as good as Choudhury if not better, Kone and Asprilla are unproven in this league, god knows when Louza will be fit and I don't know why you're mentioning JP.
It’s a cracking read isn’t it! Been on it 3 times today for the updates. Each time I’ve caught up I end by playing the Eastenders drums in my head.
I once tore up a ***** souvenir of Timpot Cup they won by cheating with their astro pitch, given to me by David ' slightly further to the right than Genghis Khan ' Evans. I used it as ticker tape. Does this help?
What a bizarre reaction from Preston. If there is no truth in it just brief your local press & leave it, the fans will see soon enough it wasn’t true. Makes you wonder…
I've just spent 10 mins looking at it - and seems like Ridsdale has somehow allowed his number to get into the public domain amongst PNE fans, he also posts on their forum and replies to fans on Facebook! He's now trying to deny texts came from him despite lots of fans verifying his number.
I think this entire saga is a case of Chinese whispers at its finest. The original question to Manga was “who is that singing?” when hearing his musical choice in the background. His answer was “someone Country and Western”. After a few whispers it turns into “who are we signing?”……and the answer…..”some c*** from Preston”. You see how easy it is to make an honest mistake!
Fair enough on Kone and Asprilla, JP isn't directly relevant at all, but playing him means we aren't playing with a proper midfield three. Is Whiteman better than Choudhury though? He's been so important to us this season and has Prem experience where he didn't look too bad
I think we should buy Whiteman, and then loan him out to Blackpool, just to see the reaction on that website.
I've heard from a very reliable dressing room source that we're selling Pedro to Preston for between £2m and £5m
Game changer being finance and possible new part ownership. Players also incoming. The source was right. I think my understanding of it was way off.
I guess this is better news than just 1 good signing. Although, would be nice to get at least one good signing!!
We've been linked with a move for Stade de Reims midfielder, Marshall Munetsi. Burnley & Bournemouth also interested apparently: https://www.footmercato.net/a1668833215972457088-reims-marshall-munetsi-a-des-touches-en-angleterre He's a bit more of a defensive midfielder, can also play centre-back. Strong and physical player, good at breaking up play. Would fit more in the Choudhury-role in our team I'd think. Thought he was good when I've seen him. Probably nothing in it anyway, and to be honest maybe not the priority for what we need right now - but wouldn't be against it.
Long contract at a mid table Ligue 1 side in which he’s playing regularly. Wouldn’t have thought it’s a viable move, though Foot Mercato are pretty reliable.
