Albeit the Pozzos have certainly not always put what's best for the development of their players first!
Given we already have one youngster to develop in that position in Asprilla, I'd rather we signed someone else there who's as much of a sure thing, immediate impact player as possible. Not sure who that'd be though with the likes of Swift and Lawrence already gone.
Seems the Pussetto thread has gone walkies. Anyway, word on the grapevine is that we are getting €8m for him!
Maybe we should go in for Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea. Wants a loan move to get more game time. Would be perfect in the Trevoh role.
Surely he goes to the Premier League, I've seen Villa are in for him now that Diego Carlos is injured
Same guy on Twitter who said TDB was injured. https://twitter.com/mredstez/status/1560804545118306305?t=PQeg7Iw1nao2HZ5pzU8E7Q&s=19
Not at all a nightmare then at €8m after 2 years of Florida driven criticism about this Argentinian international.
I know he’s injured, but Callum O’Hare? Would love to see him at the top of our midfield. Would only cost around £5m.
If we manage to somehow get €8m for Pussetto on top of the £6m for Samir, we’re definitely going to get investigated for some sort of money laundering…surely there has to be some translation issues and the €8m is referencing what we paid Udinese for him
You can’t expect an 18yo to play 40+ games in his first season? I don’t want Cleverley/Gosling racking up 20-25 starts in the #10 role!
To be fair, Pussetto is a decent player who has done well in Italy, wouldn't surprise me if he does well in Spain, it's just he's utterly unsuited to English football. As for Samir, we were lucky that a club so flush with cash wanted to sign him
Who's better I wonder? Chalobah probably had more hype as a big club youngster and England youth international, but Asprilla is already a full Colombian international. Will be fun to find out!
Hadn’t realised Burnley had gone that high. Probably too much then. Think he’s only got 2 years left on his contract, so one to keep tabs on for next summer.
Huge week ahead, essentially need 5-6 signings in 10 days, given ourself a huge amount of work to do. Feel like we've been in this position before and failed so won't hold my breath. Two CB's - suspect Hause and Stephens should join this week. RWB - absolutely desperate for one but no links so far is a concern. If one doesn't come in Rob should genuinely walk given it's so crucial to the system. CDM - needed but doubt it happens. CAM/8 - in desperate need, can't think of many options we'd spend on bar Samardzic. ST - Need two, will be shocked if we don't go for Piroe, Swansea now want to sell and he wants to go. Looked at him earlier in summer when they wanted 15 but that seems to be closer to 10 now.
I wouldn't be too concerned about the lack of links so far, Choudhury came out of nowhere, I really do expect things to hot up now that Sarr is gone. I'd be shocked if we spend £5m on any one player though, let alone £10m, we more than likely won't spend £10m in total IMO
Unofficially yep, they desperately need bodies and can't sign until someone goes for good money. If it's 2 or 3 players we will be in a dire situation given we've just sold our entire forward line and can only get 3 more loans in a match day squad anyway (especially as Stephens and Hause could be too) Will fit right in then. Although think this season could be down to combination of wanting out and playing essentially as an 8. Wouldn't be my choice mind you, hopefully we look at Healey + 1 champ proven forward.
So not official - just hearsay ? Maybe wanting a move has affected him . Unfortunately probably got bigger clubs in mind ! Wd have been trying to cut the squad so cannot see mass incomings tbh.
How much would Hause and Stephens cost if we were to get them on a perm do you think? I think the option on Choudhury is £6m, don't see Hause being anywhere near that, nor Stephens (although Stephens has a bit more Prem experience). I reckon at least one of them will be a perm to give us a bit more flexibility with loans (ideally Hause as it would mean we could still get Archer) Piroe this season sounds very much like JP! Highly highly doubt he comes, although he's a proven Championship scorer, with room to improve, it would be a great signing if we could afford it. Don't know much about Healey, did well at MK in League 1 and League 2, and has scored a hatful at Ligue 2 level, but I can't say I know the quality of that league!
Davis is on loan from Villa so Hause needs to be on a perm. That also puts the Archer deal to bed. I did like the look of Massengo and Conway at Bristol City.
