I do like him and think this is a decent signing, but his reputation seems to have grown tenfold on the back of one game in which he actually started fairly poorly.
Gilmour would be fine for us if we had a ball-winner/destroyer type every game. Without that, I suspect he’d be anonymous a fair bit.
At the age of 72 you would expect so, but still, it would be great to have him join for 2/3 seasons. Retire at 74/75.
I’m sure all of the big clubs will be in for him, but 19-year-old Jeremy Doku from Belgium looks excellent and would be so good on the left with Sarr on the right if we were to play counter attacking football next season. Edit: Never mind, he only joined Rennes last season for €26 million, I thought he was still at Anderlecht.

Sporting had a bid of £10m accepted for him according to footyinsider, but that was three weeks ago. But £10m is on the line of the highest we’d seemingly go. I’m sure we could knock that price down to our favourite £8m with add ons etc
