I'm well acquainted with Dougie Arezo, bloke won me many a title on FM! For that reason, get it done @Gino!
Not according to transfermarkt: His wages would be mental and he's declined quite a bit for it, anyway.
Think I was reading some article a few week ago. It must of been just about players the gooners were planing on cashing in on. But yeah his wages wouldn’t be worth it for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I like lots of Arsenal players. Many would be worthy of loan or permanent deals. Arteta has lost the plot and dressing room. But Bellerin is his pet and would be very poor value as a signing for us imho.
Jean-Clair Todibo has been doing well at Nice on loan from Barca - Nice have a purchase option of €8.5m, plus another €7m in bonuses. It's not certain though that they can afford it, plus we could probably offer a higher wage. Perhaps we can finally get him?!?! This isn't an entirely serious suggestion, but we do seem to get linked with him basically every window so I thought I'd get in there early.
It wouldn't surprise me to see us looking back at former targets of ours. There's even a couple who will be out of contract in July.
Kim Min-Jae the obvious one. Out of contract in December 2021. Sign him up, get a few shirts pinged over to the Korean Sports Direct and we’re laughing.
I've mentioned Nick Powell already as someone I reckon could be a good fill-in for Clevs and Zinc at the tip of the midfield, but just noticed that he's out of contract next summer and is highly unlikely to sign a new deal - he could be signed for a snip in the summer.
Has anyone ITK heard anything further about these players? I wasn't particularly expecting anything to be announced until our season had properly finished, and that of their respective clubs as well, but the way some were talking it seemed that some or all these deals were pretty much done.
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned him on here, but I wonder if we might be able to prise Josh King away from Everton? The commentators on the game between The Spammers and Everton mentioned that he is not entirely happy there because he is getting very little game time, so maybe (if we could afford him) he could be interested in joining us as we could probably offer him regular game time and a chance to prove himself. EDIT: I've just seen he is out of contract at Everton this year, so maybe he could be available on a free?
I wouldn't go near him: Turns 30 next season Would be wanting big money and I'd say at least a 3 year deal Didn't score a league goal for Everton or Bournemouth last season Scored 6 goals the season Bournemouth went down Seemed to think he was better than a relegation fight/season in the Championship
King would be one I'd be looking because it's very much looking like we're going down the line of frees and younger cheaper options. Play King centrally in the position he believes is the right one and he can certainly get the goals needed. I wouldn't even look at last season and Muff mostly played him on the left to accommodate Wilson. His best stats for Muff were when he played down the middle when Wilson was out injured. Be on big wages of course but again is better than what we have now.
That's a very low bar. He's looked completely out of sorts for both Muff and Everton this season. I don't think a change of position would do much, he just seems a bit lethargic and uninterested. He could well have peaked as a player and I'd be concerned he might be another Gray-type situation (on a free at least, but still massive wages).
It is an extremely low bar tbf. Uninterested maybe because he didn't want to play Championship football " Capoue", Everton not good enough to shift what they have, or had the opportunity too. I want better but we might not have many options if we're looking at out of contract players.
I think he's looked uninterested at Everton as well, he's just seemed a shadow of his former self there lately.
Aside from the other points made above, I would also add that he doesn't really fix our striker problems. He would be another in a list of strikers we sign who really needs to play in a two despite the fact the rest of the squad is more suited to playing with a lone striker. It seems like he never really got over the reported Man U interest from a few years back.
There's some rumours we are interested in Gustavo Hamer. If we are successful, he can score 25 yard headers for us rather than against us. Don't know how likely this will be as he has 2 years' left on his contract.
Couldn't comment on that because I've not seen him play any minutes for them. As I said I'm hoping for better though.
I think Cov did well to get him as he's actually quite a decent player, but nowhere near Prem quality IMHO
Wouldn’t be surprised if at least 2 of them are already done deals. However nothing will be announced until 1st July. Baah had his medical, so considering nothing was reported after that, would be safe to assume that it is done. Pollock and Simeu contracts also expire in June. If we are really interested in them, then I would imagine something similar to the Baah situation has already happened. A lot of things will get done this month for all clubs, always does, so that players can enjoy their time off as much as possible. Moves are just normally not announced until the transfer window opens, even though they were done weeks previously. Gino likes to keep everything close to his chest, so I don’t expect anything to be said on any signings until after 1st July.
Football London are claiming Leno, Kolasinac, Maitland-Niles, Guendouzi, Bellerin and Torreira are all up for sale this summer. Whilst some of them play in areas which aren’t vital we strengthen, there’s a few in there I’d be keen on if prices were right.
I think highly of Torreira but don't really think a lot of the rest. Maitland-Niles is decent in the right system but think he is a run of the mill central midfielder. Obviously most of them are improvements on what we have but they are no doubt on wages which are about 4 times higher than they merit. Also got to question the mentality of most of those players.
Kolasinac is probably the only one who could be obtainable and maybe do a decent job in areas we need - being capable at both LB and DM. Wages would probably be too much to be worth it though. 1 year left on his Arsenal contract. If we're bringing in Doig maybe he's not actually that needed though. Leno would cost too much, Maitland-Niles don't know where he'd play for us, Guendouzi I don't rate plus he fractured his metatarsal at the weekend. Bellerin will go to a higher profile club. Torreira don't rate.
As with Chair I think he's another one who's good for the Champ but wouldn't really do much in the Prem.
Kolasinac is paid a baffling amount of money. Over £100,000 per week for a substitute left-back. Funny that Leno is on that list after they stupidly decided he was better than Martinez.
