If Ighalo shows what he can do with Watford in the Premiership (hopefully) next season, won't he fetch a higher price? Clubs might be willing to risk a bit more dosh if they've seen he can adapt to this country.

I thought Buonanotte was a loan still. Well thanks Sherlock for clearing that up. Hope he can become a fixture for Granada. Bags of talent and if Piatti can make an impact in La Liga no reason why Buoanotte cannot either.

Yes, Buonanotte was signed, was a great movement. Recio was on loan, and seems he is going to sign for 500.000€

Pina is moving soon this year so we can have the team basement and we just focus on new players.

Commentators the other night said it's likely Recio will return to Malaga, to get him, and for only €500k is a fantastic signing.

An update, as the rumour seems confirmed by several tweets (https://twitter.com/search?q=success udinese&src=typd) and on http://www.ghanasoccernet.com/nigeria-u17-star-isaac-success-joins-agyemang-badu-at-udinese/
It seems we have anticipated ManCity, Lille and Benfica which were also interested. Let's hope the lad is good. Certainly seems promising.

Buonanotte tickles me. He's so tiny, but charges around like the mighty atom, throwing himself bodily at great hulking defenders.

He's only 5ft 3in tall bless him, but he's like Forestieri on amphetemines.

What would you say the chance are of us signing Ranegie? I would love to see him here, looks like he would suit this league and would be the cover for Deeney we really need.

    WHAT?

    Ranegie is rubbish.

  10. THT81

He isn't rubbish, looked decent when I've seen him for Udinese, just hasn't fitted in there.

Would be good to have a 6'5 player to help with our weakness of defending set pieces too.

Agreed. He was not exceptional at Udinese but we are somewhat spoiled at having a champion like Di Natale and a very hot prospect like Muriel, but I think Ranegie is not bad at all. Just Udinese's playing is not the best for him.
I'm not an expert certainly, but I think he has quite decent foot and is really very good with head. So he may give more options in attack, also on set pieces.
I think he definitely would be good in Championship.

I would agree. We need someone with technique not just bulk. I am amazed he is even in or around the Swedish national team. Once Guidetti is a fixtire with Tre Kronor he'll be out on his ear.

    Send him to Birmingham.....:naughty:

Don't know if the source is serious, but it seems yesterday there was a meeting in London between all the top decision makers of Udinese and WFC in order to plan the first next season's moves.
    From the rumour:
    - Zola confirmed,
    - Neuton, Ekstrand, Pudil, Abdi, Battocchio stay at WFC,
    - Geijo back to Spain,
    - Ighalo and Ranegie to WFC,
    - Vydra staying at WFC, unless a "really" serious offer comes from Tottenham or Arsenal,
    - a defender from Udine to WFC, maybe Daniele Mori (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/daniele-mori/profil/spieler_56917.html).

    We will see.

If this is true, I would be very pleased.

There was 100 percent a meeting, all players are being informed over the next two days of decisions, so perhaps there is some truth in this, which would be unreal.

  17. I've caught Granada on Sky several times this year, I'd be mighty happy with Ighalo :)

Mori is 6' 3" according to wiki, big lad, might suit the championship. Is he any good?

    (if true.... )

Assume Beleck is going back and what about Anya?

  19. sherlock

    sherlock Tippytappy footy expert

No idea about Anya, but I guess he'll stay too. Maybe Beleck too.
Probably the source of the rumour just forgot to mention.

About Mori, don't know him well. Was on loan to Empoli but this year played very little due to injury IIRC.

Ighalo would be a good one. If also Vydra staying, then Vydra, FF, Deeney, Ighalo and Ranegie would be a quite complete strikers team with lots of different tactical options and then only to think about strenghtening other points.

Not massively happy about signing Ranegie, he definitely won't suit Zola's football unless we're going for a change in direction, or unless this is his idea of a Plan B.

IFK - played fluid football, he was pants.
Hacken and Malmo - play air pinball, he scored a fair few tap ins
Udinese - play fluid football? Pants.

Common theme here, more than happy to eat my words of course

Little point keeping Beleck, but if the others strenghthen the squad then...great! Not so sure Mori would be a good addition as he would need time to adjust. Ideally for me I'd like to see us bring in a seasoned Championship defender who has the ability to play at a higher level.
I can only assume Neuton will end up as a left wing back, as he is not strong enough as a central defender. Pudil would be back up.

He did say "first moves." Ighalo would be ridiculous. I thought we'd only get him if we went up.

Quick, two good feet and knows where the goal is. What a great signing he would be!

If neutron, abdi, pudil, ekstrand, Battochio and then anya stay, that is six players already! Surely all these must sign permanently, this is assuming the loan rules are changed and Zola wants to keep other Loan options open through the season. We need a good start to the season so need to get these deals tied up soon so everyone knows what is going on. If we can get to January with the embargo over with a better points tally then this season and then strengthen a bit more then automatics could be possible, excluding poor decisions that were made this year with regards to some team selections.

Sorry, but I really don't see any substance in this Ighalo rumour.

Why would the Pozzos want him to leave Grenada? There isn't much quality up top there from what I can see, and then they go and take away one of their best players, who in all honesty, would be joint 3rd choice behind Vydra and Deeney (on par with Fessi).

I say again - why would Ighalo sway La Liga for The Championship?

  31. The whole thing could easily be a load of rubbish, although I'm sure I've read on Sky or Beeb somewhere weeks ago he refused to sign a new contract and wants to play in the prem. This may be a compromise offer, otherwise he walks away for free?

Would he be 3rd choice? Vydra to Spurs, Deeney to Celtic? £15-18m in the pot?

It is very possibly a load of rubbish, but you have to admit it is exciting rubbish. A lot better than watching ginge shopping around for free players in L1/2 and groaning when the latest #notquitegoodenough was signed.

  32. El distraído

    El distraído Johnny Foreigner

If Vydra goes to Spurs, Deeney goes to Jail cell-tic and Hoskins goes to Fenerbahce, then Ighalo would be the undisputed 1st choice alongside Fessi. I really can't see both Deeney and Fessi going though.

  33. Gareth Bales agent is in the press today causing all sorts of noise about Real Madrid. If he goes there for £30M+ Spuds are going to be flush with cash. A punt on Vydra makes all sorts of good sense.

  34. GoingDown

    GoingDown "The Stability"

Spending at least a third of the Bale money on an unproven Premier striker?

Would be a shocker to say the least. The Spurs fans I know wouldn't be too happy.

  35. ahornet

I would expect Tottenham would get £60m for Bale, we should then accept no less than what Man U payed for Zaha if Tottenham come in for Vydra.
