Reports in the Romanian press this morning have said that Torje is flying to England to discuss a move to a Championship club. Is it us?
There is an article on TuttoUdinese (from today, using Romanian sources) regarding a move to England which mentions a Championship club. It isn't us though, it is QPR.
Don't seem a clever move by the Pozzo's letting a very decent player go to someone who are likely to challenge us, unless it is for alot of money.
If i was a Pozzo, I wouldnt allow him to sign for a rival team that might take our place in the Premier League.
The article mentioned it would be in the form of a loan. It would be a strange move if it were to happen as it would be to a team we are competing against.
Would make little sense in footballing terms but QPR have more money than sense and the Pozzos run a business.
Sadly this is true. Wouldn't make much sense if a loan though although I know they would pay something. What doesn't make sense is letting a player go to probably one of our main rivals for promotion which is worth far more than a few quid for a loan. Probably garbage anyway!
That would be hilarious. QPR build the team around him, he's their star player and then Mr. Pozzo swipes him away in Jan. They drop like we did when we lost Johnson.
A tried and tested model employed by many top prem league clubs who have ALL the good players on their books. Does it mean he wont be able to play against us as he is registered with our sister club? Will he be given orders not to score or even to sabotage them against us? Imagine the scenario we are 3rd and QPR 2nd with one game to go, does he play in QPRs interests or the Udinese triumvirates ie: the teaam that own him and pay his wages. Would you want to lose your boss potentialy 90 million? let him go to QPR and send Udinese players to Reading and Wigan
If Torje comes to the Championship, but it isn't to us, I will probably cry myself to sleep every weekend.
Could Udinese put a clause/gentleman's agreement in his loan deal that states he cannot play against Watford?
I suppose there couldn't be such a clause as it could be deemed as third-part interference. Papa Giampaolo could say to Torje, "Score against Watford and you'll wake up with the severed head of your prized horse in your bed. Or you'll be recalled, I guess."
