...and for the mods and other players who can see this.
Have a nice chat.
I have to post this somewhere... I'm quite annoyed by what TVOR has done in the Day 1 thread. Here's a quote:
I might explain more in the write-up, or once TVOR is out of the game.
Can I just say I am loving WAS's character.
Can you let me know who can see this section?
As a newbie to this thing I probably was to open for attack. However one thing that is missed on the Day 2 thread is why I suspected TVOR, judging by the comment above that TVOR asked he obviously has a role to play but is definately not a mason.
By asking I think TVOR has opened himself up as the witness or as one of the wolves.
Because I suggested that the seer look at TVOR, then it would make sense that TVOR would kill me off. If TVOR wasn't a wolf then it would have made more sense for me to live.
Interesting theory. I'll let the game play out so you can see if you're right or wrong.
I have an inkling that PhilippineOrn is the governor.
Shame I went out so early but good move from the wolves getting rid of me. I always find it difficult to keep people on track with what is the most likely outcome.
My guess is that the alpha wolf is experienced but the traitor isn't.
This is my first time but I read last year's thread. It seemed to me that the first message was the seer and I still maintain that the alpha was unlucky and chose a wolf.
I was a mason so I know 3 other good people, it was probably my inexperience and I should have used my position to keep a low profile.
My first thoughts are that the second message was an unlucky wolf. But in the past when we've not acted on messages it only makes things trickier down the line when people think they can rule someone out because we didn't kill them on the first day etc. We are always playing catchup or the seer will have to waste a days messages.
Btw, in this section of the forum I can see the old forum title instead of the new one? Odd.
In terms of today messages, I think the first one is the wolf. Funny yesterday they were banging on about how the wolf would never say anyone is good unless they were evil themselves...
Thought i'd type out my thoughts as I read through todays thread. Post #7 PO trying to influence the seers vote is always suspicious. Post #17 tvor refers to himself as a lesser player again? Silly move from the guardian to save darave last night, should have waited until tomorrow night because the wolfs would've known he'd protect him. PO turning on darave is odd, I think PO is possibly the traitor? #66 Harrow arousing suspicion implicating tvor, those sorts of random posts are often the tool of a traitor to throw it out there and if it goes unnoticed fine, but if it gets picked up on by other wolfs can lead them to know who is who. #99 Diamond who is really experianced immediately jumping to conclusions about the the first message being the seer seems odd. #142 Miked leaping to conclusions once again. #163 darave picking up on both messages saying they viewed cude is smart, which means one of them is true.
The question that should be discussed (it was before the messages) is why 2 wolves went for me?
Has this happened before?
Two possibilities, 1 - 2 wolves were certain I was good so went for the easy kill. 2 - I correctly put someone in the frame.
There are valid reasons for either (maybe a bit of both!) but if I was wrong to point the finger surely it would make more sense to let me live and get a villager lynched.
I don't think there is much to read into that otter. If I were a wolf i'd have gone for someone random, so it might just have been a coincidence.
I see what you're saying but if there were 10-12 people left and 2 wolves picked the same person, OK that's believable. But on day 1 with 30 to choose from?
Good to see nothing is obvious to anyone. Dead or alive. It's early days yet though, so everything's based on very little. It's difficult, even if you have an all-seeing kind of role like the traitor and witness do, to get your thoughts in order and come up with a reasonable plan for your role.
If anyone wants to play the game with any extra information btw, PM me and I can tell you if you're right or wrong about anything, on the condition that you don't post it in the cemetery. Lots of people like to continue to play blind even once dead so it wouldn't be fair to give up any private info on here.
I really don't want TVOR out of the game, because he makes it so entertaining to read. He is so unpredictable and hard to read because of it. Also, if the village lynches one of a few others that are in the picture I believe it would make the game more interesting.
I'm considering giving Daft Row a warning if he doesn't post in the daily thread at all today. He voted yesterday but didn't post, and if he does the same again today I think it's worth getting on his case because I don't think it's in the spirit of the game.
What do you guys think?
I agree. I post a lot even if it's to my disadvantage because it's fun. I value that more than staying alive to the end. If he's evil it just gives team good no chance at ever hoping to track him down. Without posting the seer has no reason to check them out.
True. Maybe there is something in it. Do you have any ideas why? Diamond was on to something though when he said you and I were the two players with the highest number of posts. Perhaps they want to silence the more active players to make it easier for them to hide in the shadows.
I've never been dead this early so it'd be nice to play along blind and be able to post my analysis on here without fear of being killed.
One good tactic cude always plays is if he's under thread he will accuse you of doing something. Usually it isn't worth reacting to it and giving his remark any credence in case others pick up on it and turn against you. But it's a good way to silence those who go after you. In my first few games I talked myself into death a few times but you learn that sometimes you're better off staying silent about some remarks.
I can't see the vote going any other way but TVOR now. With 20 left to vote, at least half of them would have to vote for someone other than TVOR for him to survive the evening. I can't see TVOR coming up with a good enough set of reasons for this. We'll see if I'm wrong, but now that there's firm momentum behind the TVOR vote I can't see it going any other way.
I'm happy to play blind but I already said I was a mason on here. I suppose if people reveal who they are as they come in then that's OK otherwise I play blind.
Regarding DaftRow, I was thinking his non-contribution was merely wolf-like, but if he's not a wolf nor has an important role to play then I say get rid, but suggest you warn him via PM first.
When it's no longer possible for TVOR to not be lynched can you say on here early whether my hunch about him was right?
Sorry for interrupting, I don't know how the game works - but on previous similarly run forum based games I've been involved with, sometimes a better tactic is throwing something into the game that forces DR's hand to be more active rather than warning him for not posting.
I literally have no idea if this is possible in Werewolf
I can't really jump into the game to do anything - it's up to the players that are currently playing to notice the fact that he's been incredibly quiet. I will give him a firm reminder that not posting at all, even if he votes, is not the spirit of the game. He's a good player (he viewed me on day one last year, and i was the alpha wolf!), so he's missed in my opinion. If he fails to make a post by the end of today I've decided I'm going to kill him. Send out a message to the quieter players nice and early.
In case there are any theories about his role, i would take this action whether he's got a big part of a small part in the game.
I can tell you via PM if you like. Just let me know when you think it's curtains for him haha.
I used to do a Mafia game on another forum I had that sounds very similar to this, maybe I'll re-educate myself in how that works again
By the sounds of it they are incredibly similar.
My instinct is that Tvor is the martyr perhaps?
Also is it possible to have my mod powers back now that i'm dead?
If he was a martyr surely he would have invited an attack from the wolves rather than invite suspicion from the villagers. Also correct me if I'm wrong neither the tinkers nor the martyr know their roles?
My thought is that he is either a wolf or the governor. He can't be the guardian because he wouldn't have protected Darave last night.
Tinkers don't know they're tinkers, but the martyr knows he/she's the martyr.
I have a very strong feeling that miked2006 is the traitor though.
I was a martyr a few games ago and I knew my role I think. In the end we won before I was killed. Very hard role to play well I found. You don't want to wildly accuse people and get lynched but you want to show enough so that the wolves find you a threat.
TVOR only needs 7 more votes to condemn him.
The other strange thing I've noticed is the lack of posts by wfcmoog, I thought he was usually the life and soul of the game. No-one seems to have picked up on moog's quietness.
Actually you're right, Tvor seems guilty. Both messages today claimed to view cude so one was the seer. Which means the wolf said darave was good. I think this is tvor using last years game where darave claimed himself was good, as a plan to get people to think darave is doing the same again this year.
Imo Moog is the best player of the game. When on team good he sticks to logic and has a way of convincing others to do the same and when on team evil he does the exact same and yet still manages to benefit team evil.
