According to BT, Watford interested in signing FC Copenhagen's Thomas Delaney and should be ready to redeem frikøbsklausulen 30 million.

It is expected to be difficult for FC Copenhagen to keep on Thomas Delaney this summer, and while Fulham were previously reported as interested in FCK captain issues a Premier League club is now on the pitch. BT learns that Watford should be so interested in Delaney that they stand ready to redeem frikøbsklausulen 30 million. Watford, who this summer has been Italian Walter Mazzarri as their new manager, has, according to BT's data does not yet have turned to FC Copenhagen in a bid.

Saw him play last season for FC Copenhagen against Brondby. He's their captain at 24 and seemed like one of their top player play who was running things in the centre of the park, very tidy on a ball, not afraid to put in a challenge and some good distribution. The fans love him there.
Worth noting there's a massive gulf in the difference between the Prem and the Danish League so it's always going to be a gamble whether he can make the step up.
Would certainly be an interesting acquisition.

Unfortunately Gueds must be out the door this summer. Can see Suarez going if we get our money back even though I think he could be brilliant for us. Abdi might stay even if we get a big name playmaker but as cover. There might be a surprise though, Capoue or Watson??

 

Hopefully he can do better than his brother Martin did here

 

I always like buying club captains. Generally you assume that they wont be shirkers, will be positive in the dressing room and will lead by example.

Doubt we'll see many too many leave until Mazzari has had a decent chance to look them over. Having said that, it's not impossible he's spent the last few weeks watching our videos, assuming his contract with Milan allowed that.

 

How bad was Caopue's knee injury, is he fully recovered, is he going to be fit for the first half of the season?

Where have you seen that? FC Copenhagen plays Crusaders tonight in ChL qualifying and Delaney is in the squad. He's not been sold yet but will be.

That said - while he is one of the better midfield talents Denmark have spawned in recent years, I don't feel he is any better than what we have. I will not be disappointed if he doesn't join us. The only decent Danish midfielder we could realistically have hoped for (meaning Christian Eriksen is out) has just joined Saints. Pierre-Emil Højbjerg is a massive coup for Saints and I think he will be a massive player in PrL in the coming years - though I fully expect him to take some time to acclimatize.

Sounds like we almost signed this guy in the summer but for some reason it fell through at the last minute. Shame as he only cost £1.5 million and is now performing well for Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga.

To be honest, he would have been stuck in the reserves and then only picked when it was a choice between him a 17 year youth teamer and Doucoure in a January injury crisis, only to then go on and win player of the season.
