Unfortunately for us as the Muff game is sandwiched between two important cup games for Liverpool and add to the fact that they can probably afford to lose two or three more PL games, but still win the league comfortably. Liverpool might just put out a weakened team against Muff, which could be bad news for us if Muff are able take advantage
You'd imagine wrong on the technical quality point, at least on the Hertha Berlin/Bundesliga front anyway. When I've seen Hertha live they were as dull as dishwater. Don't forget when considering the respective quality of the leagues that PL is ranked higher than Bundesliga and Serie A - we can see this even reflected in the fact that we've beaten both Fortuna Dusseldorf and Bayer Leverkusen in our last two pre-seasons, and also players that have failed for us or not got a chance at Watford have tended to do alright for Udinese (e.g. Okaka, Sema, Zeegelaar, Wilmot). Bundesliga can sometimes be theoretically "more entertaining" than the PL in the sense of number of goals scored, but that's in no small part because most teams tend to play quite open and defend with high lines, even when it would seem to be tactically naive to do so e.g. away to a team in good form, or when already a couple of goals up.
I may be wrong but I don't think they'll play a strong fa cup team. They may rest a few for the 2nd leg of the champs league final but there's still a good 4 days in-between the games so will probably be quite a strong team vs Bournemouth.
I can't see them resting anyone for the champions league game, they're losing the tie at the moment. No doubt they will be looking for the treble so I believe the Chelsea game will be a strong team too. If anything they will make changes for the muff game being so many points ahead already.
Sorry, I meant resting a couple at Bournemouth in preparation for the champions League. I still think they'll go pretty weak tomorrow. I guess we'll see in 24 hours.
Would still back a second string Liverpool team to notch a few past Bournemouth, they're even more hopeless at defending than we are lol. If there is a slight worry about that game, it's that Liverpool's underbelly is a little softer than it has been for most of the season now, a few key injuries and now it's 5 goals shipped in the last 2 games against us and West Ham
What you have to remember is that on Saturday every Watford player stuck to the game plan and played extremely well. That’s not at all easy to achieve; it’s not just a case of other teams copying what we did and getting the same result. On top of that Liverpool were certainly not on top form. As for the ‘big 6’, bizarrely, despite our perilous league position we already have more points against them than in any season since promotion, still with three fixtures to go.
You misunderstood my post. I'm not suggesting that others just need to copy us to get points. I'm suggesting Liverpool will be less motivated in the league now the wins, always scoring, and unbeaten records are lost. They are pretty much guaranteed the title and points records so no need for the intensity and can blood some youngsters. As for our record vs the top 6, you are correct, but that clearly means we've already won this season's points against them
I've always been sure we will survive, as I've said before the Pozzo's don't do relegation. It may still be a struggle and I suppose I would like us to get to the West Ham game with both teams needing a point. Que a match similar to how the B Munich game recently finished with both teams kicking the ball about to no end and a 0-0 draw. The best scenario though is that just as the United game kick started a run, so will the Liverpool result and we will go on now to win 3 or 4 out of the next 5 to be totally clear well before the end of the season.

Pool resting Salah, Firmino, Alisson, TAA, Wijnaldum and Ox tonight Nice and fresh to smash Muff at the weekend (oi oi)
Looks like Villa might have another game in hand now as they are due to play Newcastle on FA Cup 1/4 weekend. Is that a good thing for them or hindrance with games mounting up ?
Don't forget Newcastle could also be in the mix, what a *********** that could be. If I were them, I'd pick the rezzies in the league and go all out in the cup like we did against City before Palace last season lol
Well we are a lone wolf on the 21st March! https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/scores-fixtures
Narch beat Spurs in FA cup so their fans have something to cheer and forget the EPL. Newcastle also into the quarters so hopefully that affects their league form which remains poor and they are sucked down the table. I REALLY hope they beat City - I am so sick and bored of them winning cups and their fans leaving early cos it’s just another trophy.
This could go well for us on Saturday and Monday if we pick up a point or 3 at Palarse. Away games with tricky opponents for all our relegation rivals.
I’m too used to being a Watford supporter. If Liverpool play the way they have been I can actually see Bournemouth getting a point up there at least. Arsenal will probably **** up and lose 2-1, Norwich will lose but no one cares. Saints will rest Ings again for absolutely no reason other than to piss us off and go down 1-0 to the Toon (own goal obviously). Our away record is crap and Palace are due a win against us. 1-0 and Zaha to score completing the worst “after the Lord Mayors show” in history. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That’s the spirit. Very Watfordy. Must be a long time supporter. But on Saturday I’ll be saying .. I feel it in me bones.. Muff will get a Liverpool backlash tonking. Hammers get hammered by a resurgent Arsenhole who retain their invincible stag. Narch and the Toons will be dreaming of the cup and trip up. And Brighton are going downhill against a very good Wolves. And on Monday Lesta will be too good for poor Villa. And we will get at least a point.
