I am imagining most of you on here live in Watford or somewhere vaguely near the ground however I live and work near Portsmouth. I have supported Watford for my entire life and am now 46. I have a flag in my van a Harry the hornet and some fluffy dice for good measure. I am used to flack for supporting our club but this season is taking the P*** really I am constantly getting ribbed about our management players and just about everything else. Will continue to come up to games and support as always but wish we could pull our finger out as a club string some performances together and shut these Pompey crowds up down here. Come on lads make us proud….
I know Portsmouth are improving but they've certainly had it tough with managers and owners for a while. If anything they are probably warning us what could happen... Do they still have the bloke with the bell at Fratton Park.
You're never alone as a Watford fan. There's always another one not far away feeling equally miserable.
I’m not miserable some of the folk on here have been here a long time so have some justified grievances I suppose. You all know as well as I do you can’t simply support another club not that I would anyway. The family and I are up quite a bit between now and Boxing Day so looking forward to it. Talented squad is Watford just need to galvanise as a unit then we will be fine. Up for the Luton game in a few weeks
There used to be a good tournament at Southsea. Very "Handful of Summers". Warm beer, limp sandwiches, ropey grass courts. Nostalgia's not what it was!
Do you have any information regarding JP’s calf injury only he was 50/50 for the Stoke game just wondering if he is playing tomorrow or a sub
You know the club website does injury reports every week/matchday, right? And the Observer reports on the pre-game press conferences in which the injury situation is discussed. And it's mentioned on other threads on here - generally, in particular, the match thread. JP is not yet back and will not be available tomorrow. Neither will Hause, and Sierralta is a doubt. WTE is back. Gaspar is out.
There will probably be someone injured we don’t know about too - always seems to happen . But yes once the managers speak usually get all the injury news .
My favourite is how our players always take longer than estimated to come back from injury - or have a relapse - while those in other clubs often get back sooner.
The only answer Willis is to follow Sisyphus 's lead and hide in the wardrobe from Thanatos. Mind you I fear it's too late for some of ours!
Hope any ‘ negative waves baby ‘ come back and shoot em up the …. Like in Kelly’s hero’s come on Watford be our Sherman tank against a tiger tank. Inverior armour but get the aim right get a victory.
I'm up Chesterfield way, am of an almost identical age and surrounded by Owls or Blades (though there are a scattering of us in my village). I feel your pain but being northerners, the locals are generally a little more light-hearted and friendly about it all, especially as they've all had their own troubles in the past few years (though I got annihilated at work for a couple of months when we went down and Sheffield United were doing well!). FIL and next door neighbour are both Wednesday so going through troubles of their own! Even I'm drained by our club now so need no help in the ribbing side of the banter. I just join in when anyone starts mocking us.
He isn’t mentioned in injury updates, so perhaps he is just so poor that he isn’t even considered good enough quality for a championship bench. At least Bayat got his commission I suppose and we still had enough left over in the summer to focus on other gaps in the squad like back up strikers from Bayat.
To be fair, Bayo absolutely tore it up today having finally been given his opportunity! We can hardly question that kind of recruitment.
