The backdrop to acquiring new players (and holding on to our good ones) in the current transfer window is obviously our financial position.

With the share price at a new low of 22p - down a massive 12% yesterday (the market doesn`t seem to buy the concept of the stadium development increasing cashflow substantially), and with a currently strongly negative return on investment- the chance of attracting new long term money (rather than speculators) is poor.

Interestingly the share price was not greatly moved by our promotion.

So realistically Aidy needs to trade, and buy right as it is unlikely Barclays (or any other bank) will fund our player purchases.

I may have mentioned before who would be a football manager?:(

I've completely lost track of what my initial investment is worth with all the re-issues. I used to have 100,000 shares which always made me feel good.

    Are you sitting down Berkshire?

To put it gently like me you are nursing a value which is down 82.80% over the last 3 years (including consolidation) they will probably have a much lower selling price, as demand is virtually nil - the best option could be to sell them to Moose - if he has the cash.

So if you are feeling generous the proceeds may buy a round of drinks in your local tonight - as long as you havn`t got too many friends;D

Why would i want to sell them? When i bought the shares i said to anyone who could listen this was the worst investment i had ever made.

Like most fans investing in a club i never saw it as a money making exercise, i knew it was a donation in return for a nice looking share certificate to put on my study wall and an annual report every year.

The new certificates don't look so nice now though so just kept my old one on the wall.

I think a statement was made about following the route of losing the Public Company status - If i recall a senior member of the board of the club mentoined that to me. We don't need to be a public company for two reasons-
    1) - we don't want some foreign investor - egoistic millionaire buying us and using us as a plyathing unil he tires of the idea.
    2) - We don't pay dividends - and are ulikely to for many many years - there is very little short term potential for the stock - if however our fortunes in the league were to make a dranatic u turn and survival looked a real possibility, i think the shares would make a dramatic rise albeit a reversal if we did finally go down.

One point to consider if one is feeling like selling the shares - how much lower an they go - bearing in mind we should have a positive balance sheet, with dosh in the bank and a squad valued as high as one has ever been valued at WFC and the ongoing ground development and self sufficient sustainable income promised in the future.

If anything the shares at this price are a tempting BUY.

Berkshire - you really are as daft as me, I bet like me you also bought the bricks as well.

But Moose is so enthusiastic about the financial future of the club he probably knows something really positive we don`t.;D

I hope you are right Paddy - we will see how we stand at the end of January - but the last accounts showed a deficit of £5.59 Million so it will be interesting to see how the Prem. cashflow improves things.

I might just hold off booking the world cruise until it is confirmed we are not signing CJ though.;D

The last accounts were based on annual turnover of £8 million plus ( if i recall correctly)which is around our average turnover for a few seasons.

The £30 million inflow over this year from sky and premier gate money and merchandise sales will reflect in the accounts to June 07 and even with higher wages for players, match day costs for policing etc etc etc I cannot see anyway that the balance sheet would show the business as being insolvent as at 30.6.07.

Staying up would guarantee a further £45 million plus for 07/08 and the shares should then reach a level of true worth based on business credentials rather than football credentials.
