People need to chill out, we're beyond the point where we need any other teams to do anything, any points they drop is just a bonus

6 points from the next 3 games and we're up, even 4 points could do it

What about if both teams win their game in hand and we lose to Norwich and Brentford which is possible?

I think 3 wins and a draw is needed.

Have to beat Luton and Millwall.

If they can beat them, we better batter them.

Early kick off next week is Bournemouth vs Brentford. If Bournemouth turn up I fancy them.

Barnsley winning now. If it stays like that the whole top 6 will have won this weekend. Awful weekend for Reading.

Think the top 6 will stay exactly as it is now. Possibly Bournemouth above Barnsley.

Swansea won and Brentford winning...but, but, but, that wasn't supposed to happen because they were both on bad runs which meant we'd be promoted at Luton ....????
If we lose at Luton or Norwich and Brentford beat the really **** Millwall, and both teams win their games before we meet, Brentford would go above us if they win with one game to go (we play swansea, they play Bristol). Let that sink in.
    Still much to do.

Watching Wycombe versus the Scum and I now have less worries about next weeks game, scum are piss poor. Playing against a 10 man Wycombe and struggling to create anything.

Okay so scum are winning now but they are still poor and they probably wouldn't have got any points from this if it was 11 against 11 as Wycombe were the better team before the sending off and are still creating a few chances with 10.

I can’t tell if you’re trolling at this point? You’ve become so negative even I’m impressed.

We are 9 points clear of second with five games to play, and are currently the second most in form team in the league. Of course Brentford and Swansea are still going to win games, but so are we. It’s not about what they do any more, with five games left it’s about how we finish our season off.

Are you expecting us to completely collapse in these final five games? If so what is the basis for it, as one of the top two current form teams?

I think the players are well aware of the calculations of how the season can end. It's a mental game as well - they know how close they are, and despite today's results (which I am sure they are aware of) - it (I hope) will spur them on to keep the pace.

No one is denying that there is still work to do but I highly doubt that we are just going to be **** all of a sudden and that Brentford and Swanseas will win all of their games.

    Not trolling, just stating facts.
I think we will go up but think it will be a lot closer than others think.
Brentford 4-0 up now so we would def need a point more than them.
If they win their delayed game vs Rotherham and beat us, the gap is 3 points and we have Norwich, Swansea and a motivated Luton to play.

We don't have to be **** and they don't have to win all their games. If we lose to Brentford and drop just 3 points more than Brentford in the remaining games, they go up.

Others think it won’t be that close because we are currently 9 points clear and are basically the form team in the league. The turn around in both form and points required for Brentford or Swansea to get anywhere near us is huge and logically and statistically extremely unlikely.

So many ifs and buts. Not every weekend is going to be a fantastic weekend to be a Watford fan.

Some people probably wouldn’t be happy if we needed 1 point from 5 games to secure the title, let alone second place.

The reality is, we are at worst, 6 points clear of third with 5 games to go. Once again... I would have bitten your arm off in January if somebody offered us a chance to even be in the mix before the final two games.

It remains entirely in our hands, and all this weekend’s round of fixtures has meant is we are exactly how we were with one less game to negotiate (one of the harder games too).

All we can focus on for now is giving the Scum a hiding next weekend.

Doesn't need a dramatic change in form. If we lose to Brentford and drop just 3 points more than Brentford in the remaining games, they go up.
    5-0 now....

They would also need to beat Bournemouth away who are currently 4-1 up and in better form.

Fair play to Brentford. Preston isn’t usually a happy hunting ground for them and they knew that defeat there today on the back of four straight draws would probably be the end of their automatic hopes. Very impressive win and gained a little on us goal difference wise.

When do they play their game in hand? I see Swansea’s is midweek but not Brentford.

Bottom line remains promotion is very much in our hands. So largely was avoiding relegation last season of course, which is maybe why so many people remain so nervous that we are going to blow it.

But we are in the form of our lives, and have a squad packed full of experience. The likes of Sánchez, Gosling, Cleverley, Chalobah, Cathcart, Gray and dare I say Deeney too from the sidelines should all prove invaluable, as they’ve all experienced promotion in their careers.

Surprised at Preston, they have been half decent when I have seen them before today, utterly hopeless today, Brentford could have scored 10

OK but we would need to beat Norwich away - we both have one ultra tough games oh but we also have swansea who may still need points....

Our goal difference is still better than theirs so this isn’t 100% true. Or even close to 100%. It’s a possibility and no more.

“Doesn’t need a dramatic change in form” yet you then talk about us dropping a load of points which... is a dramatic change in form.
