We're playing Stoke? Id completely forgotten we play real football matches and exist beyond the realms of social media....
It occurred to me this morning that String stole the "knowledge, college" rhyme too,in "Wrapped Around Your Finger".
If this is the build up to Stoke away, can we imagine the absolute toxicity around the club when Luton batter us at home in a few weeks?
Well that is good news at least. As long as he is played sparingly it before he is back to fitness it will hopefully greatly improve our transverse of the ball up field. Still no idea what systen Bilic will adapt, but considering it's away from home I gather we will be more defensive/counter attacking.
If something is transverse, or if we traverse something, then it means moving sideways not lengthways. Which is likely exactly what we will do.
Yes it was (unless he was in charge of the FA Cup loss at Southampton), on a cold and wet night in Stoke we stole a point, followed by smashing Chelsea 4-1.
As long as he doesn't duck any low crosses into the box we should be alright. However he hasn't exactly played well and continues to be at fault for goals we concede. I am surprised Bilic is starting him. Shows how depth we do not have.
Hause for Kabasele Joao Pedro for Sema Louza for Kayembe If those changes are made in the coming weeks, that’s as strong as we can be. We are at least somewhat approaching picking the the best team available - and the shape change can surely only benefit us.
Pulis to stuff his team with mutoids. Set-piece woe for Hornets with a Ade Akinbiyi brace. Stoke 2 WFC 0
Personally just praying that he’s only in there because he has a small amount of captaincy experience. Hard to pick another captain out of the other 10 players so I think that’s why he’s starting. I’d say Gaspar has far more leadership qualities - but he’s got other things to focus on first.
I'm glad you've finally come around. You're bang on right this time. Not many Championship teams that can boast a genuine £5m striker and a genuine £6m gk on the bench. Same old Watford, taking the p.....
Injured. Only 2 fit CBS. “Hause (minor knee complaint) is only fit enough for the bench, while Cathcart (thigh strain), Troost-Ekong (hamstring) and João Pedro (calf) miss out”
Gasp-Air (copyright someone wittier than me) back to marshal the right flank and stop the famous Potteries wing-play from gaining any traction. Puffing through his ears, bent double, hands on knees after quarter of an hour. Kabasele as captain. Presumably he left a YouTube video of his best moments (not including sitting down on the job at Bournemouth) on a loop on the big screen in the canteen all week. Kayembe bossing the midfield. Louza for a 20-min cameo. I mean, he'll be blown away like a feather in a gale in the Championship but he can at least play. Davis leading the line. Great early signs from Slaven Ivic.
Last season we couldn't win at home, this season we can't win away. Will today be our day I wonder. Play anything like we did at Blackburn and I think the Pozzo Out brigade will be in full force at FT. We could put Mr. Blobby in charge of this squad and still get the same reaction to a change of coach even if it was Sir Alex. Sooner or later something has to click, but that will be the trigger for Bilic before Xmas.
That's helpful as provides reassurance for picking Kabasele over Hause. Apart from that it's probably the best selection possible from those available.
