There is a site where peeps can record their vote for a Bank Holiday next year for St. Georges Day - April 23. The site is http://www.stgeorgesday.com/voting.asp The site needs at least 500,000 votes for the Government to take it seriously, so come on folks, I know you are up for it.
This was on here a short while ago. We don't want another holiday in the spring, there are too many already.
too many? the uk is one of the hardest working countries in the eu and we actually have one of the lowest mininum wage limit in the eu. we want more time off
People with families would like some extra time with their kids instead of having to work 5/6 days a week.In scotland they get an extra days holiday at New year where we dont.
Im not going to preach to others about how hard working, tax playing blah balh. We want a day off for our patron saint to get p*ssed......(he was an arab but still...)
It's now at 770006 although I note that 41987 have vored against it. Still I'm sure they can work if they want to if we get the day as a National holiday
the ones who voted agast it are probly asylm seekers with out jobs wanting us to work that day to pay there benifits
Can you lot not read? Did I say I didn't want another bank holiday? No. I just don't want it in the spring when there are four already in three months, whereas there aren't any in the four months between the last Monday in August and Christmas.
