Just heard from my mate, don't know if it's true though! Would back up what I said a couple of weeks ago though! Last I heard he couldn't agree terms!
I have a feeling the outrageous fee for Vine may have part bankrolled some of his wages. Unfortunately i can't see him playing for our first team again. Be interesting to see how well he goes down if he does go back. I certainly won't boo him if he turns out against us for them. Fond memories of Spring. Away at Palace and Norwich to mention just two.
He did us a good job last year. Wouldnt suprise me if he went back to them. Hes a great championship player.
if he does, i think it will be the first Looton player i ever actually clap (well a polite applause perhaps before calling him something else!) i doubt he will play for us again in the prem but would he fancy playing league 1 football next year for them?
i hope spring stays ok he not done much this year but next year if we are in the championship he will come in handy
That's the thing though, there's no point in keeping hold of a player just to perform well in a league this club obviously doesn't want to be in. WFC aspires to establish itself in the premierleague and it's pointless to keep him if he's just going to be useful in the championship. As mentioned previously i admire Spring and have fond memories of his time here but i think the time may have come for him to move on.
But surely the time to sell him then Chewitt is when we're on the cusp of promotion next time round. Firstly he'd add decently to our Championship squad and secondly it'd avoid a rival Championship team getting him (I mean rival in the 'same league' sense)
I agree. but lets face it next year we will be back in championship (i really hope not but its looking that way). Then Spring can help us back to the prem where we want to be, then sell him.
Im loyal i live in devon and i gone to over half the games this year went to 22 last season so i think i loyal. I know that its a far big task we got to do i hope we prem i pray we do but facts its goning to be really tough.
You have a point UEA, perhaps i should say i think the time has come where he is going to move on, not strictly what i think should happen now i've thought about it but with the signing of Williamson and the distinct lack of possibility that Francis will leave i have a feeling Spring won't be here much longer.
He did a great job last year, but if we are to build a team capable of being a top 10 Premiership side a la Reading it has to start now and continue through next season as well. Sadly Springy realistically wouldn't fall into the category of players who would be a part of that. I'd wish him all the best, even if he did go back there....
So, this is something you've heard from a mate and you don't know if it's true? He was great for us last season - Norwich was fantastic! But he hasn't performed in the Prem. I'd applaud if he came back with whoever.
anyone from luton gets a boo from me how on earth can you go from the mecca of the football world (watford ) back to the scum of the world luton
New song If he goes back to the scum, should we ever play them again, we would have to sing this song "Oh springy springy, you used to be a hornet, so your alright now"
What's your problem now? Yes i've heard this from a mate but what i'm saying is i don't know if it's official or not! He heard it from a scummer and as we speak it's the talk of Luton! He was seen at dog kennel road last night before thegame was called off with clubs directors! Expect it to go through before the weekend!
i'd be sorry to see spring go, imo he's been criminally sacrificed to the long ball game. when he came on second half against west ham the game changed and he did well. would you really rather hang on to francis and let spring go?
Not happy with this deal atall, should of atleast kept him until the summer when we know what division we're playing in, and 200k-300k is a very poor price for Springy...
Well, I think it's a good piece of business. I like Springy - I think he's a good player. But he's not good enough for us and he won't be good enough if we go down either - simply because we'll have better alternatives. Mahon AlBang Francis Tiggy coming back from Millers Williamson That would make him sixth choice for two places - I can't see him playing much then. Only thing is he's joining scum - we're letting them have a top player for CCC football. I see it as charity - and probably tax deductable ;o)
I think its a good deal, we got a good season out of him and made 50k on the price. Also didn't Luton get £1.5 mill for him when they sold him?
No he went to Leeds on a free...hence the reason why I laughed at them having to fork out 300k for him
