Thought I'd give Lo-Everton his own thread as I think he's gonna be the closest to the first team in the future. As I'm bored and hungover I decided to make a brief compilation of his 5 games at Wealdstone so far (doesn't include yesterdays game sadly in which he got a goal and an assist, i'll keep an eye out and upload those when they're up as well) - he looks a very bright spark and i'll be following his next loan with interest, I'm hoping some L1/L2 scouts have an eye on him for a loan to a better club next season. Not a bad compilation considering he's only played 650 mins!
Important we get the loan right, it's something we've struggled to do with our homegrown lads. Any ideas which club we should send him on loan to?
He looks pretty good in this compilation, shame that most of his team mates in these clips were pretty ****
Talented kid. Get on the phone to Mullins and see if he fancies having him at Colchester next season.
Lovely change of direction on him. Definitely has an awareness of space and what’s around him that was well above the level of those he’s playing with in those clips.
Based on watching him in the FA Youth Cup I said the same, and these highlights I think corroborate that idea. There are a few occasions when his final ball was a bit off, but his dribbling and the way he glides across the pitch is very impressive. There's a touch of a young Grealish about him. Playing on better pitches with sharper team-mates should suit his play.
Expires 2022. Big season for him now - I’d like to see a loan to a League 2 side until Jan, see how he gets on.
Yeah Grealish was immediately who came to mind when I was watching the clips, as you say he loves a dribble (16 attempted in his 5 games I have data for), pass accuracy was 78% with 4 key passes created. As you said, final ball was sometimes a little off but you'd expect that from an 18 year old playing high risk/high reward passes.
So a bit of an issue ? He does very well on loan and signs for free for Everton in a years time ? Presume we are trying to get him to sign a long term deal.
Looks a clever little player. Yeah season at L1 would be good. If not, how about a few cameos off our own bench.
As others have said we need to get him on a longer contract, as he looks as though he has got real potential of making it into the 1st team squad in a year or two.
Just watched the highlights of the Wealdstone - Woking game where he scored and assisted. He is a very classy player and already looks a cut above the other players on the pitch - reminds me of a video I saw once of James Madison when he was at Coventry as a youngster, could immediately tell that footballing brain and technique was on another level. If he doesn't get poached, I'd put money on him being the first academy prospect in years to make an impression on the first team.
After watching some of his full games I gave the heads-up to some of the decision makers I know at Plymouth and MK Dons to take a look at him for a loan next season, both play some nice football so here's hoping they take a look!
He's on a pro contract (albeit one that expires at the end of the season) so we do at least have some protection against that.
As you say. Wonder who he will choose to join next summer ? Hopefully he has a really poor 12 months and then maybe we will get to keep him.
Would be a great opportunity to work under either Ryan Lowe or Russell Martin (although I wouldn't be surprised if they've moved onto bigger things by the end of next season)
MK love to pass the ball, although I'm not sure Pompey under the Cowleys will be so keen to keep the ball on the floor! Interesting if he does go to League 1!
Nice compilation. Good goal, nice dribbling and really intelligent passing. His through balls looked slightly overhit, but if he's on a pro contract, no reason for us to not chuck him in the squad!
Yeovil game live on BT Sport at 5.15 today. Will be interesting to watch if he makes the starting line up - does look the one youngster that really could make the step up.
I didn’t mention but I went to Aldershot vs Yeovil last Monday with my Aldershot supporting mate. Lo-Everton played for the first hour and my thoughts on him were that he was very neat and tidy and didn’t lost the ball that much, however he didn’t really do anything that amazing and was a little ordinary.
Looks like he's playing just off the striker, not sure if that's his best position. He's very comfortable with the ball, technically there's no issues with him. He hasn't seen too much of the ball though because the standard is pretty poor and Yeovil tend to launch the ball forward to the striker.
Yeah, he's looked perfectly tidy/decent technically without being involved a great deal, and seeming to hang about/appear on the edge of the box in an attempted Lampard a lot, I guess. Seems odd to bring in someone who is theoretically a technical asset and then remove your ability to put it to any use, but far be it from me to tell Yeovil how to prosper in the Conference.
He gets himself into space but his teammates either aren't able to pick him out or they go long. Must be frustrating for him as Yeovil are actually seeing a lot of the ball. I think he'd be better in the midfield where he can get on the ball more but he doesn't exactly have the physique of a National League central midfielder!
Nice little give and go layoff he managed there on the edge of the box, perhaps they can work more of that in...
Some really nice touches but very hard to be paired with that big lump upfront. Perfect example was Sonny releasing him for a three on two and he ignored the two team mates and then trod on the ball.
