So what does everyone do?

There seems to be a lot of time dedicated to posting here, especially during working hours. Just out of interest what does everybody do?

I'll start.

Was made redundant at the start of the year, from a Customer support management job. I am actively looking for a new permanent role, but lucky to be in the position where I'm looking for the right job rather than any job. I have done a bit of consultancy off the bback of an interview, but it has been a while and considering some temping work now.

 

I work for Vauxhall Customer Care, which is why I am based in Luton

Was being made redundant as they decided to relocate to Newcastle and Budapest and at the time I couldn't relocate as my wife would not move. Since then me and the wife split up and I asked to relocate, was sent out to Budapest for 8 weeks and was given the choice to relocate to either sites. I have since got back to my wife and decided to relocate to Newcastle for this reason, I move up there next week with the wife joining me some time next year hopefully.

So thats my job and story and the reason why my location at the moment is Luton.

 

I work in finance, that about as specific as I'll be!! No one will talk to me if I tell you what I actually do! But as would be expected jobs in my areas aren't all that riveting so I keep this open most of the day to keep me awake!!!!

I have to check it at work as at the moment I am waiting for broadband at home and so don't really go online at home at all.

 

European technical specialist for a well known electronics company. Get to spend most of the day on the PC so easy to do admin here all day.

So Faith, how long have you been an estate agent

 

I'm afraid it's worse than that!

 

Well you can't be a traffic warden, though finance would come into it.

People have misconceptions about my job and the people that do the job I do, and I don't want to be tarred with the same brush.

Accountants are OK, my friends wife is an accountant and she's a lunatic.

 

Just finished Uni and I now work at Marks and Spencers in London Colney. Work the evening shift so that why i can post on here all the time.

Good to see loads of watford shirts around the store after the Arsenal game.

 

Yep! Actually I work as an Auditor, I am an audit manager for one of the big 4.

I think lunatic could also be used to describe me too, i'd have to be to do my job!!

Update, managed to get some temporary work assisting in the finance department of a city stockbroking firm. It's a different world, the sums of money that pass hands is amazing.

I used to travel into London every day for quite a few years and by the time I left London I was sick of the journey day in and day out. I haven't been into town for a few months now, but I'm going in Tuesday to do some work and for some strange reason am looking forward to the trip.

Does this mean less time in the arcade???

Journey although packed is 30 mins less than my last one so finding it bearable. Best thing is they're fairly relaxed about net surfing so I will slowly regain my Arcade titles.

I'm currently working as an Environmental Consultant in Manchester, I was previously working in Leeds but couldn't be bothered to commute there every day so quit! I stayed there until after the Play Off Final though so I could laugh at the Leeds fans!

My job's pretty boring, but when the boss is away (i.e now) I can come on the internet and check out the forum(s). I don't have an internet connection at home so I'm very much a weekday poster as opposed to weekends, which is crap because I miss all the post match chat!

 

get a cheap PC for at home, better still "borrow one" from work whilst you know who is away.

 

I’m a student who should be writing essays but instead spends hours randomly surfing the net…In the evening I do work - I study the different alcohol prices

 

Wish I could mate, I do have a PC at home that has been on the internet. The trouble is I have two house mates, and they're not keen on getting the net, so I can't be arsed to foot the bill because I know that if I did get it they'd use it anyway, and being a nice bloke I wouldn't stop them! (what a soft touch I am). Also we've only got a 6 month contract on the house so getting the net would be problematical if we had to sign a year long contract for the t'interweb.

It's annoying but at least I can go on at work, and when I come back for home games I normally stay at my Grandparents house, they've got the net so I can use that.

 

My dad used to do that, now he just manages a dept of them!

Faith, to be honest mate, i do hate your type off people! I am only 17, but work in an accounts team, i have already experienced that your type are as annoying and boring as it gets. Alas i will not hold it against you, and i respect the fact that at least your not sponging of the government!

I work in McDonald's full time, i have 3 stars and have won employee of the month twice this year. I'm currently working on getting that fourth star
