I think you're doing a disservice to Moore, I think he'd be class in the Prem, but yeah, we ain't spending £15m on a single player I don't think (and even if we're willing to, someone like West Ham will come in and offer way more dosh)

I think we'd spend £15m if he was 23 ! Or if we can "sell" TD & AG for £10m :)

The likes of Villa and Leeds already seem over the hills and far away, but Palace have a big rebuild job on their hands, Burnley will be there or thereabouts, Southampton finished last season terribly, I don't see why we can't finish above at least one of them, and of course neither of our fellow promoted teams strike fear

Cardiff would want £25m if he were 23!

    Yes I know.
That's why if we sign a striker for the first XI I don't think he will come from the English leagues.

'With the club in the middle of a relegation battle, making signings was key for Watford this month.

Nigel Pearson will have been keen to add to his squad and potentially find the player that could make the difference in the Hornets battle against the drop.

He’s been given that in some ways, with Ignacio Pussetto and Joao Pedro both arriving to bolster his forward line.

His squad has also been bolstered by the return of several loan players, with forward Adalberto Peñaranda among them.

The Venezuelan was out on loan at Eupen but had only made seven appearances in all competitions, so the Hornets decided to cut his spell short.

Except, it seems Eupen were not aware that was their intention. According to Grenzecho, the club had expected Peñaranda to stay at the club and had even announced as such in a press release earlier in the week.

Then on Wednesday, Watford released a video that showed the forward training back in England and very much as part of their squad, which ‘came as a surprise’ to Eupen.

Watford have now apologised for the ‘hasty announcement’, having seemingly forgotten they had to inform someone they were taking their player back.

Eupen have since signed Smail Prevljak to replace Peñaranda, so they’ve probably forgiven Watford this transgression.'

    Well well well

I don't know what Eupen should be more pissed off about, the fact that we took their loan player off them without telling them, or that we gave them our dud player in the first place

He doesn't need to be owned by Mogi Bayat for him to get involved in dealings by all accounts. Read this article from today it's priceless.

Despite FC Nantes’s perilous season, the 22-year-old French striker shone. Author of 10 goals and 9 assists in all competitions, Randal Kolo-Muani established himself as the strongman of the Nantes attack. Logically, his good performances were noticed, in Ligue 1 but also abroad. Frankfurt has expressed interest in "RKL", as has Watford in England. In France, Kolo-Muani's profile also appeals to Lille and Lyon. Les Gones, who want to recruit a versatile winger, have made Nantes one of their priorities and obviously Jean-Michel Aulas is directly involved in the negotiations with his Nantes counterpart Waldemar Kita, according to insider Mohamed Toubache-Ter.

Kolo-Muani wants to sign in Frankfurt
“Waldemar Kita is funny! He denigrates you his center forward in a big sports daily then in full sun around a cocktail in St-Tropez, makes President Aulas believe that he has an offer in the amount of 12 ME from an English club … Watford FC Bayat ”said the insider, also confirming that Randal Kolo-Muani did not want to sign for Lyon or Watford. Convinced of Frankfurt’s sporting plan, the 22-year-old French striker gave his priority to the German club. Problem: Bundesliga-playing Frankfurt is outraged by Iranian businessman Mogi Bayat's intrusion into the negotiations. At the moment, it is therefore still too early to know where Randal Kolo-Muani will play next season. But at this rate, Frankfurt could lose patience and finally decide to skip the FC Nantes striker because of the presence of Mogi Bayat. A situation that OL, well behind in this dossier, could take advantage of. Provided that Jean-Michel Aulas and Waldemar Kita agree on the compensation for the transfer of Randal Kolo-Muani.

Mogi Bayat is considered the de facto Sporting Director at Nantes, so it's not news that he'd get involved in dealings involving the sale of Nantes players.

Worse than the one that finished the season, probably, but not worse than the one which started it surely. Besides, we are going to make signings to improve the side, it's not as if we're gonna go in up **** creek without a paddle

Fair point, but not sure how indicative it really is, other than as a note of caution.

I seem to remember that at the time, start of the season, people were tipping Fulham to do better than us because of their high spending, but it didn't turn out so well. So what you say could also be considered a caution about spending lots of money unwisely.

History is a great way to inform opinions, but it's pretty useless for establishing form when comparing unlike for like.

Doesn't seem to be a problem for Udinese and its was maybe the Udineseblog saying he could be shipped here afterwards.

Fulham only spent about £35mil which really isn't that much. A lot of their signings were loans.

The only team which stayed up last season was actually the one which spent by far the most - Leeds rather spent about £90mil, so your claim about needing to be cautious in spending is far from universal.

Fulham actually seemed a decent team whenever I saw them last season, but the PL is unforgiving and was generally very strong last season.

Of course Udinese wouldn't have a problem with a work permit.

He could probably be shipped here afterwards, but I think only if he features in one of their Serie A games first.

    Prevljak deal is a non-starter.

Not because the deal fell through, just because I made the whole thing up.
