Sir Lloyd of Doyley

  1. When he's not been in the squad & rolls up late(ish) to the Vic, he's always said hello to me. Genuinely nice bloke.

Don't necessarily disagree. Don't think he'd have got a new contract this year if we'd gone up.

Again, not unfair. But I think the play off final showed just what Lloyd has to offer. One on one, there's no one better at the club. He's perfected the dirty, unglamourous stuff of just being patient, standing your man up & making them decide what to do. And at this level it normally means skewing the cross out for a goal kick. That said, if he lost his pace his ability to do this would be severely compromised.

With the impending depature of Eustace and Al-Mooney's future uncertain I'm wondering if we are looking at Captain Sir Lloyd of Doyley?

I don't think Deeney is ready yet, he's still a little hot tempered.

Nos would be a good shout, if he's still the same player.

Doyley is now the longest serving player in the Championship* and I believe the third longest in the football league after Kevin O'Connor of Brentford and Kem Izzet of Colchester.

    Well done to him.

    * Millwall's Alan Dunne signed professional terms earlier but didn't make his debut till later.

Sir Lloyd was the most integrated member of the defence yesterday (Reading), involved in or providing options for almost everything that was going on, better distribution than Angella too and more effective going forward. Sadly, my lovely Ekstrand was pooh.

Seems that SLD could be first choice at the back at the moment with Sidney Belle-Ende coming in, hopefully to prove himself, and options from the mix n' match counter, beginning with Angie Baby. We don't have much room for luxury at the back at the moment, and the answer doesn't seem to be throwing flare at it.

I am sure things will change as we hopefully grow more assured, but right now, Lloyd is King.
