I had to Scousers sitting next to me today even though they were not wearing their colours, it did **** me off when they celebrated the goals and made snide comments about some of our players. Why were they even allowed in, in the first place?

Well if it Watford fans passing on their tickets to scouse mates then the people that gave away their season tickets should have them taken away permanently! Tough s**t!

We must be the only club in the country that would allow this sort of thing to happen at this level of football! If it had been Watford fans in the Kop all yellowed up from top to bottom they wouldn't be allowed through the turnstiles!

This sort of thing goes on at every club in the country, and judging by all of the aggresive, negative responses to the small band of LFC fans in that section it doesn't sound like a 'family stand' to me.

    1. If theres one place a visiting supporter can feel safe in an opponents ground it is the 'family stand' especially if children are involved.

    2. Those opposing fans must have got their tickets off either a Watford Fan, or the clubs itself.

    3. If a supporter goes to watch his team play it is just a natural reaction to cheer if and when they score.

    4. Like it or not LFC have a large fan base and when all their allocation is sold out, fans who live in and around the southern parts of the country will take a chance on getting a ticket for the 'home' end.

I'm not saying this is right, its just a fact, the surprising thing to me was that there wasn't more visiting fans in the home sections giving the fact that there were still hundreds of empty seats in the stadium

PS, I was in the Rookery with Paddy, and whilst I didn't advertise the fact that I was an LFC fan, most people around me suspected and there wasn't a problem at all, in fact I thoroughly enjoyed my day, whatever the result would have been.

Hundreds of empty seats? I thought we had sold out?

Unless a lot of peole ended up not being able to make it, the far end section behind the goal, (next to the away fans) had lots of empty seats.

Maybe our Liverpool friend means the closed down part of the East stand and there was probably a few empty seats dotted around in the Viccy Road end.

EDIT: It is closed down for health and safety reasons RC and infact it is where the Directors Box is.

The thing is Roadend it's news to us that these are 'family stands'! As far as I was concerned a little part of the old cow shed (the bit near the touchline and the uncovered part) is what makes up the family stand. Yet suddenly our club are telling us nope, everywhere but the Rookery is a family stand. I agree with you about the source of the tickets and I understand people want to cheer - but it's simply not on. I'm sorry but if we went one-nil up at Anfield (don't laugh ;D) how would you like some guy next to you decked out in yellow jumping up and down and shouting about how crap Liverpool are? I've no fuss with away fans who don't wear colours and keep their celebrations muted however.

Actually, on the tuesday night I took an Arsenal fan to Anfield for the Carling Cup game, it wasn't a problem, in fact he got on well with those around him and was complimented on how good Arsenals youngsters were.
I'm not naive and know this wouldn't happen week in week out but the only fans who wouldnt be safe in Liverpools' end would be Man U and vice versa.
Its just the manner of how you conduct yourself, if you're going to gob off for the whole ninety mins and don't show much respect, then I agree they should be removed from the section.

Generally, you'll get treated yourself as you treat those around you.

Exactly. And on Boxing Day I had to sit with hundreds of cocksure Arsenal fans slagging off everything from our ground to our team to the weather. I've no fuss with those that are respectful but at that game we had Arsenal fans with shirts and flags in home areas! I'd have had a word with a steward if I hadn't have already known what the answer would be.
