I took my family to the game on Saturday against Sunderland and just wanted to say how incredible the Watford supporters are . My two young boys are 8 and 6 and loved every minute of it and that is a credit to the family atmosphere at the Vic. We are hoping to come up for the Boxing Day game against Millwall does anyone have any reservations about bringing little ones to this game only I am aware of their reputation and was concerned as to their safety. Any thoughts on the matter appreciated
Safety should be fine around the stadium but I personally wouldn't have my two girls (the same age as yours) anywhere in the family enclosure that's right next to the Millwall lot. Right on the other side would be fine I think, likewise anywhere else in the ground other than the SEJ blocks nearest the away end.
We were in SEJ1 which was great so will probably go back there to be honest my thoughts were mainly after the game leaving the ground. The Sunderland fans were good as gold after the game not surprising seeing as they salvaged a point. Would probably leave five mins before the end just to make sure. Thanks for your reply
Let’s hope so will go to the game now definitely. Watford fans are the nuts mate a credit to football fans what a cracking bunch
My sons first away game was Millwall, he was 7. There really isn't an issue with their fans unless you want an issue. Same after the game, they can be rowdy but will 100% not be looking for trouble with family groups, (or usually any other group).
Good to know I did mention to my wife the likelihood of trouble would be slim seeing as we are a family with small kids and it’s a 12 o’clock kick off so not to much drinking time before the game. Thanks for reply
Let’s hope we win the game was disappointed not to take 3 points from Saturday but still time to find out A game for the remainder of the season. Are we likely to hold on to Joao and Sarr for the remainder of the season or will the next transfer window stuff us up
Probably depend on where we are in the table tbh by then . If Sarr is going to be injured every other game then might as well sell !
If we get anything for him that is rumour has it that’s why villa pulled out of the deal. Wouldn’t it be great if Watford kept hold of great players we have had many over the years Barney’s for one till he went to Liverpool. If I was loaded would buy Watford and invest massively in youth development and keep quality players. 80’s reminiscing
I agree and your ambtion for the club is what most of us want. It's been talked to death on here so I won't go into details but the squad needs a major shake up as does the board. What we have now is nowhere near the level of squad unity that we had under GT, no matter how many times Duxbury tries to spin it otherwise.
I just don’t understand the loyalty issues these days. Player’s should be proud to pull on the jersey each week. It used to be that way years ago but with the transfer windows each season I suppose it must make it difficult to know where you are going to end up I suppose. One thing is for sure if Watford paid me 20 k a week to play for them and Man City wanted me for 60 k a week I would stay with Watford because that’s my club end of.
Well most of our current players probably only joined as we are near London and we’re a PL club tbh .. Most would have ever heard of us or take any interest once they leave .
I wouldn't leave 5 minutes early.... Safer in a crowd than on own. If Millwall are losing then some of their fans may have left early and may be outside in a bad mood and you'll be somewhat exposed. However it's still unlikely as I wouldn't expect anyone to attack a man with 2 young girls. If a Millwall fan gave you any abuse I would actually expect other Millwall fans to step in and sort that individual out, but I'd still wait until the end.
