This Tuesday evening, St Albans City, in 5th place, take on the league leaders, Ebbsfleet United, under the lights at Clarence Park.

All Hornets season ticket holders get concession-priced admission to this match (and all our league games this season). Also, Watford Women Season Ticket holders also now get concession-priced admission to our league matches.

The clubhouse and 3 pitchside bars will all be serving Mad Squirrel beers and cider.

Tickets are available to pre-purchase and at the turnstiles: https://fanzone.stalbanscityfc.com/product-category/match-tickets/

Hopefully St Albans can regain their lead against the runaway leaders but good in any case to see that unlike last season they've managed to maintain a high league position. It's tight at the top - another goal for the Saints and they climb back into the play-off places up to 5th.

Ebbsfleet are like the Norwich or Rotherham of non-league - often not good enough for the National League but too good for the NLS. I've walked past their stadium twice when walking the Thames estuary and frankly that area is a ******** (Gravesend isn't too bad though) - says it all when the highlight is the Kimberly Clark Tower with the Andrex logo. But they seem to have a good dedicated bunch of fans and the atmosphere in their stadium is good at least when the team is doing well (they were playing Halifax in the FA Cup this season and the noise could be heard for quite some distance).

I initially read it as this which gave me a mental image and a little audible chuckle in the office. Now people are looking at me funny.

If you ever pop in for a wander around the stadium during the week, there are plenty of squirrels running madly about the place - although I haven't seen any being served as an accompaniment to a beer or cider... yet!

I read it more as serving Beer and Cider to Squirrels, now it's all got a bit sinister.
