I'm actually really pleased for Berahino. The way he's been treated by West Brom and Pulis over the last couple of years has been absolutely disgusting.

Would've liked him here, but don't blame him for choosing Stoke. Hope he manages to rebuild his career.

More likely Mamady Sidibe. Can fill the Ngonge shaped hole whilst his 'permanently injured' record must appeal to WM.

    £12 million done, confirmed.

Here we are signing Zarate for £3 million. Slightly confused and annoyed right now.

Yes, we really do need some more slow strikers who are good in the air.

Both players a waste of money bearing in mind their extremely suspect temperaments. Fortunately we will be wasting less money than Stoke!

    Both proven in the Prem.

Stoke have got a guy who at 21 in his second full season scored 20 goals in 45 games.

We're getting a guy who at the most promising stage of his career went to the Qatari league, came to England was sh*t at Birmingham, came back 7 years later to join West Ham, was so crap that he was shifted out after only EIGHT games, went to QPR, had a sulk, fined two weeks wages and sent back to West Ham. 8 clubs in 9 years, loaned out multiple times, caused trouble multiple times.

We've got enough lazy, undisciplined *****s in the team, for the life of me I can't see why we're so keen on another one.

Stoke are a considerably more established PL team than us and have no chance of going down this season.

Why are you equating Berahino and Zarate? They aren't filling the same spots at each club, they just happen to be transfers that coincide.

Stoke have been after Berahino for ages, after being frozen out for so long I expect to be coveted like that swung it for him. Not to mention that they don't really have any other strikers of note he'll be competing with (Walters and Crouch). Also, Stoke are a better team than us right now and they have a manager who, to an English player, is far more known.

Criticising the club for not getting Berahino is unfair, criticising the club for signing Zarate as an alternative is wrong (in my opinion). If, when the end of the window comes, we have only brought in Cleverly and Zarate, then I think the club has dropped the ball and deserves criticism.

    Fair point, it's not equal.

So far the only player we have brought in is Cleverly and that's a good sign of the direction we're going in. Zarate, Gradel and other rumours don't look so promising. But you make a fair point, I will hold out on an opinion till the end of Jan.

Can you name any reason why he would pick us over Stoke?

Maybe the proximity to London, but he has chosen to live in West Brom, so it's probably hardly a consideration.

Yet they have one more win than us over 21 games..

They've addressed their main problem though which was a goal scorer, with Shaqiri & Arnautovic providing the passes, Berahino should score loads.

Now Berahinio has gone to Stoke (according to SSN) lets get on with the sale of Iggy to WBA before they change their minds, and worry about a replacement afterwards.

Agree at the moment we look like a team heading for the championship but I would of still rather signed for us

So Saddo prefered Stoke to us, so sod him! Now let's get on with off loading Iggy to WBA, then go in for the Brentford lad big time!

Other than established prem club guaranteed to be so next year, with bigger gates, local to where he lives with stable management who speak English, absolutely nothing.

Stoke've been a Prem side longer than us & are nailed on to be so next season. We will be too probably IMO but it's less certain. Stoke isn't exactly Monaco, but then again neither is Watford. You can't blame him

However I don't suppose Saido will be renting above the Poundland in the high street so it is of little consequence.

Correct! Maurice Johnson deed indeed live in a small flat above a shop in Vicarage Road, but it was not above The Chippie, it was on the pedestrianised parade of shops nearer to the Ring Road, and it was on the opposite side of the road to The Chippie.
