Poor performance against Bradford - Briers going off didn't help and we missed Morley and Westwood. Too many handling errors plus the referee (Silverwood) had a shocker!

Not going to Barca. Can't afford it unfortunately.

It's reckoned there could be up to 6,000 Warrington fans going to the match and Catalans have sold 20,000+ tickets. It's also pay on the day so they're hoping for a crowd around 30,000!!!

We'll have to raise our game to come away with any points from there.

Seems like the Barcelona trip was pretty successful - a crowd of over 18,000 and a win for Warrington.

I must admit I wasn't convinced we'd get anything from the game but we played fairly well, especially in the 2nd half. Managed to watch it on the Internet through some Spanish/Catalonian channel - the commentary was quite funny as it was in Spanish (I think) with a smattering of English. Players names were quite funny - Crees Heeex for Chris Hicks, etc.

It appears the only downside was quite a few Wire fans we subjected to pick-pocketing irrespective of age or gender. However, a few pick-pockets are nursing a few cuts and bruises.

Bad day at the office for Quins!!

I saw some of the highlights of your game on Sunday afternoon, it looked a really good game and a decent win for Warrington too. I admit that I didnt think you would get anything there...

Looked a brilliant crowd though, especially with so many Wire fans there. When you scored your first try it looked a really good following!! Unfortunatley, Barcelona is well known for muggings and pick-pocketers but its a shame as sounds like women and children/elderly have been targeted?

The less said about Quins against Leeds on Saturday the better, just hope we can play like we did at Hull KR at Wakefield on Sunday.

Good win at home to Hull FC last weekend 24-12.

We weren't brilliant but they were the most boring team I've seen at the HJ. They only threatened to score from their own efforts once (and they did), the other was a length of the pitch interception.

Good luck to Quins this weekend against the PieEaters and hopefully we'll beat Celtic in Wales.

Disappointing defeat for Quins at Wigan last Friday, we were dreadful apart from the last 10 or 15 minutes when we had a bit more of the ball. Having a player sent off so early on didn't help at all!

Good win for Warrington at Celtic though, did you make the trip down?

Huddersfield at home for Quins on Saturday, so a win would be good but not expecting anything because the couple of times I have seen the Giants they have looked good! Reckon you can beat Saints on Saturday?

Comfortable win at Celtic. Didn't go.

Tomorrow's the big one - Stains at home - sell out crowd in front of the Sky cameras. Stains have Long, Cunningham and a few others out so this really is a good chance for Wire - I'm more confident of winning this game than I was the Bradford game a few weeks back and we lost then!!!

Lets hope we can finally end the hoodoo!

Saw the sending off of the Quins player for the forearm smash on Tomkins - ouch!

Quins seem to be a bit patchy lately - it's very tight mid table and 2 points this weekend could be vital.

    C'mon Wire.

    The hoodoo continues!

It's a bit like Watford losing to L*t*n regularly in the late seventies and early eighties - very annoying.

Once again Stains spend most of the match offside (something they've mastered and referees don't seen to pick up on), dishing out late and/or high shots without recieving any punshment and have fans who I can only put on a par with their arrogance to those of ManUre.

I also have to question what the hell the purpose of touch judges are! It amazes me that they seldom see a forward pass and offer no assistance whatsoever to referees when it comes to things happening off the ball. The ref naturally is following the ball but the touch judges have a wider perspective of the pitch but see bugger all.

    Rant over.

Another defeat for Quins - the Giants seem to be much improved this season. Did you go or did you watch the Boreham Wood match? Saw the goals on Sky sports News this morning.

    Depressed in Warrington!

I saw the majority of the second half yesterday from your game whilst waiting for my mates girlfriend to get ready before going out - for a neutral it was a great game to watch. Some great rugby and the atmosphere sounded electric!

I didn't go to Quins yesterday, made the decision to go to Boreham Wood instead. From what I have read and heard, we deserved to loose and Huddersfield were the better side. From what I have seen of the Giants this season, they have looked really good.

We are on a dreadful run of results at the moment and there are now five teams on 20 points - although we have a game in hand which is Bradford at home!!

Next up for us is a trip to Perpignan to face the Catalan Dragons - I am not expecting anything from that game - apart from another defeat in front of the Sky camera's.

I think if you talk to most Rugby League fans the Warrington v St Helens matches are the ones to provide most excitement for the neutral. They're always (in recent years) close fought encounters with big hits, tries, controversy and an electric atmosphere. Sadly the outcome always favours them!

The atmosphere on Saturday was as good as it's been at the Halliwell Jones. Saints always fill their end of the ground and the closeness of the fans to the pitch helps too. The added bonus of beers on the terracing also helps and doesn't seem to have any nasty side effects with regards to trouble.

It's a pity we can't get that type of atmosphere down at the Vic on matchdays

Well, I didn't expect anything on Sunday in Perpignan and I was right. We had quite a few injuries but even so, that's now five defeats in five games and something has got to change otherwise we will just start falling further out of the play-off positions.

Disappointing result for Warrington though mate, was always going to be a tricky game but thought you might have nicked something.

Next up for Quins is a tricky game at home to St Helens and am really not expecting anything at all. You must be pretty confident about beating Salford at home?

  11. Warrington Hornet

    Warrington Hornet Reservist

I listened to our game on Radio Merseyside and we couldn't complete our sets of six, constantly dropping the ball and got what we deserved. I thought we might nick something there as we have a pretty good record against the Giants.

We need to get back on track against Salford on Sunday especially as it's the semi-final the week after against Wiggin.

Quins seem to have gone right off the boil since the good win at Hull KR. It's still very congested in mid table.

From a Warrington point of view we need Sintellins to beat you, but I can't bring myself to support them!

  12. MJ1

    MJ1 Reservist

I cant see any other outcome than you beating Salford, especially at home! Our game against St Helens should be quite a game, am unable to attend as am away this weekend but am not too hopeful at all.

Ever since we had that decent win at Hull KR we have been dreadful ever since, as I say, we have a couple of injuries but something has to be sorted and quickly otherwise other sides will take our place in the play-offs.

Reckon you will beat Wigan in the semi-finals?

  13. Warrington Hornet

A few weeks ago I would have said we would definately beat the Goons.

However, they've improved over the past few weeks and we've not been so good - probably due to Briers, Morley and Hicks being injured. They're rumoured to be back against Salford, so hopefully we'll be better. We have a tricky game away to Leeds the following week and then the semi.

    Fingers crossed!!!

I don't know what Tony Smith said to the players at half time but it should be bottled for future use!

12-0 up after 9 minutes against Salford then the players (and fans) get complacent and end up 12-20 down at half time!

    Step up Tony Smith.

Second half Warrington scored 50 unanswered points to run out 62-20 winners. If only they could play that way all the time (or at least a week on Saturday in the semi final).

Quins bad run continues - did you go?

I havent seen any highlights from Super League and only found out the results when I got back home last night. Good result for Warrington though, got a lot of points on board especially with things getting so tight in the play-offs mix.

As you say, another defeat for Quins. Something has to be done to change things as we have slipped down the league so much and if this run continues, we wont be in the play-offs which will be a shame after such a good start. I didnt go as was away in Spain for the Watford game.

Havent got a game this weekend but the have a tricky game the following weekend at Bradford.

Got slightly confused with the dates, we are at Bradford this weekend. I cant believe it is almost the beginning of August already!!

Just watched a cracking game of Rugby League, Saints 10 Wigan 6.

Me and the wife went over the local to watch the Saints v Wigan game - very good entertainment and I was glad that Wigan lost late on as I thought it would dent their confidence ahead of next weeks semi final.

Just got back from the pub tonight having watched Warrington lead Leeds until the 79th minute only for Leeds to convert a try from the touchline to win 24-22. We'd missed an easy conversion only minutes before!!!!

    Gutted.

Next weekend I'll have one ear on the radio for Watford score whilst being at the Halton Stadium watching Warrington v Wigan in the semi final.

    C'mon the Wire.

Was watching the Warrington v Leeds game in the pub last night, really enjoyed it until they turned it off. Despite my best efforts, they wouldn't put it back on. Thats what you get from living in the south!!

I must admit, I was hoping that Leeds would win but purely for Quins benefit because it is getting so tight in that middle section of the league.

Not overly confident that we will get anything from our game at Bradford today but fingers crossed.

Will be hoping for a Warrington win over Wigan next week, if the game and atmosphere is anything like it was in your last game a couple of weeks ago it should be a cracking game.

Leaving in about an hours time.

Nerves are starting to set in - never thought all those years ago I'd get nervous about a Rugby League match, but that's sport for you. Once you're hooked that's it!

Good win for Quins last week putting you above us. Sorry, but I want Bratfud to get revenge today from a Warrington point of view!

Hopefully, I'll be posting on here later (mis-spelling words due to too much celebratory drink) feeling great after wins for Watford and Wire!

    ## Wembley, Wembley - We're the famous Warrington and we're going to Wembley, Wembley, Wembley ##

Nice to see some fans of other clubs on here.

I'm over the moon - to beat the Pie Eaters in the semi final yesterday was just magic. A fantastic atmosphere throughout the game and the post match celebrations were as good as Watford beating Leeds in Cardiff. I had a croaky voice this morning!

Thought we'd blown it (as Warrington are prone to do) when we let Wigan back in it from 32-8 to 32-26, but Briers drop goal and Hicksy's 60 yard sprint put paid to that.

This afternoon things got better - Huddersfield beating Sintellins. Not that I think it means an easier match for us, just that I can't pretend to like Sintellins no matter how good a side they are!

Got my tickets for the final this morning - £26 per person - not bad! It'll be my first visit to the new Wembley

MJ1 - nice to see that the Bulls beat you yesterday (sorry!!!) but it did put us back above you. Are you going to the Swansea away match on the 29th???

Pity we couldn't get the 3 points against Donny yesterday.

Congratulations mate - Wayne told me the result in the pub after the Doncaster game so knew you would be delighted. Not only a croaky voice, but also a thumping headache too?

I havent seen any of the highlights of your game (or even the Quins game) but will look out for them on Boots N All this week. Saw a bit of the Huddersfield game yesterday, they looked good but I still reckon you can feel pretty confident going into the final.

Cant argue with £26 though, I had an email come through from the Super League about tickets and thought they looked good prices. How are you going to get to Wembley? Have lost count the amount of times I have been there so if you need any help then let me know! I will be in Swansea on the 29th otherwise I would have come along and met you for a few pints.

Didnt go to the Quins game on Saturday as was at Watford, but apparently we were awful - seems to be the normal thing at the moment - apart from the win at Bradford last week. It is getting very tight around the play-offs now with us, Wire and Catalans all on 22 points - could our game on the 13th September be a play-off decider? Could be a very entertaining last game of the season!!

Dreadful result for us last weekend at home to Salford, I know it was a very late try but we really should be beating sides like that if we want to get into the play-offs.

We have Hull away tomorrow so am hoping for a win - but I really cannot see it. Think we have blown our chances now!! Our run-in is Hull away, Castleford at home then Warrington away so not overly confident.

Poor result for Warrington on Friday night at Wigan, I thought they might come out and try to get some revenage for your victory in the Challenege Cup - talking of which, just over a week away, you must be very excited?

Who do Warrington have this weekend mate?

I wasn't expecting too much from Wire last week at the Pie Dome. We had 5 first teamer out "injured"!

We're at home to the Wildcats tomorrow evening - a pre Wembley celebration I hope. I think we may be fielding another weakened team - not sure I agree with that as 8th place is still very tight.

We've got Wakey at home, HUll KR away and then Quins at home.

I was surprised you lost to Salford (although I was glad to see it from a Wire point of view) - they seem to have lost all confidence lately - What's up?

The Wembley tickets arrived last Saturday - 10 of them. Travelling down Friday night and staying at Mum's. Alli, Wayne and the boys are going as well. Probably get to Wembley about 11ish for a few beers and then hopefully see a victory for the Wire. Staying over Saturday and home on Sunday - hopefully for the victory parade!

We did have a spare ticket which we were going to offer you if you weren't going to Swansea. Lets hope for two great results on Saturday.

Quins don't deserve to have anything written about them on the current run that they are on after yet another dreadful defeat at Hull last Friday.

However, on a brighter note, all the best to the Warrington Wolves this weekend in the Challenge Cup Final.

I hope that you, Deb and the girls along with Allison, Wayne and the boys both have a brilliant day to see a Wire victory!!

    Cheers mate.

We're travelling down Friday evening and then getting the train from the Junction about 10:20 on Saturday. Few beers up at Wembley, soak up the atmosphere and hopefully a win. A parade is planned, win or lose, for Sunday afternoon so will travel back Sunday morning.

Sounds like a lot of Wire fans will be travelling from Watford according to the Websites. A few at work are staying in Watford Saturday night.

Lets hope Watford can win too - although it sounds as though half the team are leaving!!!!

    Thanks for the best wishes.

Any horns not going to Swansea, get yourself to Wembley (they'll be tickets available I'm led to believe) and enjoy a great day and not a player faking injury in sight!

    C'mon the Wire - U 'orns

What a great day it was - only down side was Swansea's late equaliser otherwise it would have been perfect!

Warrington's fans must have outnumbered the Huddersfield ones by 3 or 4 to one and never ceased getting behind their team. 30 to 35 thousand.

Great game plan put Huddersfield on the back foot early on and with a bit of assistance from the video ref got a thoroughly deserved win. Lets hope it's not another 35 years before we win it again.

My first visit to the new Wembley and all in all a great stadium but the PA system is apalling!

The parade through the town on Sunday, despite the pouring rain, was unbelieveable - there was an estimated 40,000 lining the streets.

The whole weekend ranks along with Watford's wins against Bolton and Leeds in the play-off finals.

I took loads of piccies - will try (not too sure how to do it) to get some on here.

I'm not sure whether Huddersfield didn't turn up or Warrington didn't let them play the way they wanted to. The second half in particular, every time they got the pass from the play of the ball they were pounced on by 2 or 3 Wire forwards.

We need to produce that form in Super League now to get in the play-offs.

Saw loads of different shirts in London on Saturday morning en-route to Paddington including a massive group of Catalans fans. I even saw a Quins fan in St Albans at about 11pm when I got off the train from Swansea which I havent seen before.

Terrible result for Quins last weekend - was going to go down, but decided against it right at the last moment then flicked Sky Sports News on and saw the result at 0-48... couldn't believe it!

Poor result for Warrington at Hull KR though - they have surprised me a lot this season. Cup Final hangover? I would imagine that Wire are pretty confident about the game on Sunday? Personally, I cannot see anything but a comfortable home win!

Quins have been terrible these last few weeks.

I was hoping for defeats for Catalans at Saints and Bradford at Hull last night giving us a chance against you tomorrow. True to form Sanits let us down and Hull put up a good fight against Bradford.

I believe they're expecting a big crowd tomorrow, even though Quins won't have many fans there, as they will be parading the Challenge Cup after the game.

Who do you fancy for the Grand Final? I think it's between Leeds and Hull KR myself. Saints are a shadow of the side they have been in the past few seasons and don't look like recruiting for next season - I believe they're a bit short of cash too!

Going to watch Warrington Town v Nantwich Town in the FA Cup this afternoon whilst having one ear on the radio for tha Watford score.
