Or music. Or DIY. Or stamp collecting. Or, as you suggest (although it seems an oddly niche suggestion), a podcast. Not sure what your point is.

Yes, he's called Mogi. He clicks his fingers and any number of sub-standard footballers from Belgium will come out of nowhere and unleash an average performance on Gino's enemies.

Is this a serious post ? If it is it's incredibly patronizing and made on prior assumptions. Assuming anyone who wants to see the club do as well as it can has no interests outside of supporting the team. You may get a few fans like that but I can tell you most of us bemoaning the state of the club behind the scenes in the decision making areas have plenty of other interests. And I like to complain too when Sigma firmware fails to sort out AF issues or Cult Films releases another green tinted Italian classic courtesy of Ritrovata.

Imagine the cheek of long time supporters feeling uncomfortable at the series of poor decisions made by Gino and Fuxbury. The excuses, lies, opacity and the involvement with a very shady character to do transfer business with.

I did not say any of that. I was referring to those supporters who, in the words of the previous poster "...simply turn up, hope to enjoy a game of football, maybe have a little moan at the ref, maybe clap if it's a good result or good effort, pop to the pub, then head home." These were the sort of supporters that others on here had described as "weird". I was observing a reason why they might not be.

That is not a blanket assumption that all those who are more concerned with the day-to-day operation of the club do not also have other interests in life. If I thought that, I would say it.

I do think that a person who thinks supporters not as involved in their club's fortunes as them are "weird" may well not have enough else going on in their life - if they did they should be able to comprehend why others might not be as engaged as them.

I know lots of Watford fans - indeed fans of many clubs - who simply don't feel the inclination to become as engaged with the operation of their club as many on this forum are with Watford. That doesn't make them weird. I mean, many of them are weird, but that is not the reason.

Indeed. Approx 15,000 watford fans turn up to most home games. The number who actively criticise the owners and club on social media, and debate potential signings, can be counted in their dozens, maybe hundreds. For the vast majority of fans, supporting WFC is light entertainment for the weekend only, the same as at any other club. In many ways the few empassioned fans on here and twitter are very very much in the minority and could be described as "weird" whether they (we?) have much else in their life to be passionate about or not.

No, no. Real ale pubs must have solid traditional names like The Queen's Head or The Hare and Hounds. The Cat and Chameleon is clearly a craft beer place.

When was a supporter who just turned up to a game referred to as weird? You are simply making things up now.

You know full well the supporters being talking about are those at games and on social media who identify themselves by their loyalty irrespective of the actions of the owners and the application of whatever mercenary the owner has brought into the playing squad. The ordinary Joe was not being referred to.

That said I do think we have more of supporters like yourself than the “ordinary Joes” compared to other clubs.

Maybe that will finally cause our moronic, supportive, ******** fans to take a stand, and start a protest that I haven't bothered to start myself.

    You said:

They don’t need to protest to make me happy. Just stop being so weird would be a start.

    I don't think that's particularly weird.

So I don't "know full well" those that you were talking about and, on the face of those posts, I wasn't the first not to understand.

I'm not sure what you mean by "like yourself", but I am sure it's both wildly ill-informed and far from complimentary. :)

WatfordTalk turned things into general match day attendees not me. I’ve always had two irritations. People who clap players off after abysmal performances. People who defend our shambolic ownership continually on social media (the worst culprits being because they are looking after their own interests). Unfortunately I think we have too many of both in our fanbase which leads to me to conclude we have a “weird” fan base. That doesn’t of course mean all (or the majority of) our fans are weird.

We're all different and all entitled to our opinions of course. Personally I clap players off if I can see they gave 100% in an abysmal performance, I don't if they didn't. The ownership has been shambolic on a few instances over the last 10 years but overall the second most successful in our history so I'm prepared to accept the weaker elements of their ownership.
