Met him very briefly once. Pleasant and fairly quiet kind of guy who liked his jazz. That theatrical style of rock wasn’t for me, but you can’t deny the sheer oomph of BOOH and many other songs. RIP.
I was at the 2003 Wembley Arena show when he collapsed. Because of the showman that he was, it seemed like part of the act, until the lights came on and you realised how serious it was. We were all given tickets for a rearranged show when he had recovered and returned to London. The new gig started with him being wheeled out on a gurney surrounded by scantily clad nurses. A great entertainer who enjoyed his music, despite how cheesy a lot of it was. RIP
Loved his massive **** in Fight Club and his role in Rocky Horror. Always seemed like a good chap. RIP.
His name is Robert Paulson. Seriously though, what a complete and utter legend, a total one off. Bat Out Of Hell is still a great album.
One of the Rock Gods - pure essence of music joins Bowie and the others. RIP good sir and love and wishes to all closest friends and family. "He would do anything for love, but he wouldn't do that..." One line that will always be credited to him.
Died of Covid, apparently. Given his political leanings/opinions I suspect it's likely he wasn't vaccinated and ended up paying the price for that. Very sad.
I've just blasted the whole album out. Totally OTT but brilliant, the soundtrack to my teenage years despite trying (and failing) to be a super-cool punk. 'Paradise By The Dashboard Light' is the best song ever about being a horny teenager!
RIP Meat Loaf Without sounding glib it's another death from a great musical era And the trickle will become a stream unfortunately
Fair point. Completely disagree with the idea of vaccine mandates though. That would be a slippery slope.
Just said something similar to my friends the other day. It's incredible how many people Ozzy has outlived.
You could say that I took the words right out of your mouth, must have been whilst you were ki...wait.
