Used to go to these all the time, as tickets were free and of course, Watford is the Hollywood of England and home to multiple film studios.

Ones that I can remember going to see:

Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads episode (can't remember which one)

Some radio music show several times (can't remember the name) but saw Curved Air, the Pasadena Roof Orchestra and the Police, who were utter amateur shyte. Many others I can't remember.

Several inconsequential game shows. Can't remember the names of any.

Who else has been an audience member?

I went to see The Mary Whitehouse Experience being recorded a couple of times and a few other radio things.

The BBC ticket office is the place to go for audience tickets. Some are hugely over-subscribed (Strictly) but many new shows have low take up. Free, so an inexpensive night out.

15 to 1. Went to watch my mum take part. There is actually no audience and you just sit with the camera crew.

I went to one ages ago. I don't remember what it was but do remember spending the whole show desperate for a slash because audience members weren't allowed to leave their seat.

Went to see X Factor a fair few years back being filmed at studios in Wembley. Went with the kids. We had seats right next to the judges but, as it was quite late, the kids ended up asleep on my lap. Didn’t look great whenever they cut to the judges they had two young kids asleep in the background

became over 16 to attend from the next series

I've been in several "virtual" audiences throughout the pandemic including Mock the Week, The News Quiz and The Infinite Monkey Cage.

Mock the Week took an absolute age to complete. It was at least 90 minutes of recording time to get the 30 minute show. Very impressed with most of the comedians though. Very quick witted.

The best bit was when a couple of the guests needed the toilet and disappeared off set. Hugh Dennis and Data O'Briain had a hilarious conversation despite both knowing it would not be anywhere near the final show. It just shows they are just naturally funny people that enjoy a laugh.

"Dead Ringers" (both TV & radio versions), also attend several recordings of "Just A Minute" and "The Now Show", but not for about four years or so now.

Shows the value of having four contestant left in the final chase.

Loads of R4 comedies at the Drill Hall (The Now Show, The News Quiz etc). One of the Now Shows is memorable because they did a very long, convoluted gag that was based on Danny Kaye's "...vessel with the pestle..." routine - they made 4(?) recordings of it but it wasn't in the show's final edit.

    Not enough Stewart Lee gigs/shows.

Newsround when I was 11(?) as we were (one of?) the first school dining halls to go to a self-service canteen style.

Saturday Night Live (when it was hosted by Ben Elton) twice.

QT twice (Canterbury and the 'Wood - where I asked a question).

GQT (the tickets were supposed to be for my parents but they didn't want them) where I ended up being seated next to Benjamin Zephaniah.

An episode of 'Allo 'Allo - three hours of my life I'll never get back.

My mate (a visually impaired comedian) 'does' the Quiz Show Circuit, he did Pointless (the dynamic between Richard and Xander was like that of a 30 year long married couple who despise each other - at one stage I thought that Richard was going to lamp Xander) and Two Tribes - both filmed in the 'Wood.

I was supposed to be in the team for University Challenge but I refused to pay to 1/4 oz hash bribe to the president of the SU.

I was supposed to be on Blockbusters but failed to answer satisfactorily questions posed by my school's headmaster concerning a crate of lager missing from the bar of the sports centre attached to my school.

I was supposed to be on 15-1 but that clashed with Spike Island (15 hours on an ex-tip surrounded by feuding rival Woolly drug gangs listening to feedback...).

The best thing I saw was 'being in the audience' (AKA being a temporary 'runner' looking after the 'talent') for the long-dead Night Network segment Video View when the guests were Julia Fordham (who my GF at the time was really into and for whom I got us the temporary 'jobs') and errrr.... Blackie Lawless from W.A.S.P. Fordham was exactly the po-faced harpie luvvie you would imagine her to be and Lawless was just immense - a better description would be a 'walking d i ck': this is not meant in anyway derogatory he just exuded sex and sexuality. His anecdotes, if I repeated any of them, would lead to this BBS not only sued for libel but closed down by the obscene publications squad.

    I've been to

World Cup Fantasy Football (1998) - strictly it wasn't a recording - it was a format rehearsal - checking camera angles, cues and runtimes - guests were Helen Chanmberlain and someone I didn't realy know They asked us to come early to watch the early evening game which ended 0-0 and put on refreshments - no alcohol understandably.
Friday Night Project - when Jimmy Carr hosted
The Graham Norton Show - Nicole Kidman, Hugh Bonneville and Take That as guests
The Last Leg - The pilot show with Idris Elba as guest

In the 'Wood: Clive James, Vanessa Redgrave & I can't remember the politicos... Canterbury's a blank other than the loathesome Julian Brasier.

I'll have to look 'em up.

EDIT: The 'Wood one was dominated by some elderly Jewish bloke in the audience who went 'mental' at Redgrave and was slung out on the orders of David Dimbleby.

According to wiki the 'Wood line-up was "Hilary Benn, John Bercow, Jenny Tonge, Vanessa Redgrave, Clive James" (I honestly don't remember any of the politicos) and .... I can't find the Canterbury one with Brazier...
