More importantly this thread is was in the wrong section. I like the mix here. There are sections which can be avoided where people like me who know absolutely nothing about football can spout bollox to our hearts content. I need this as I have no friends in the real world.
We don't have anything football related to talk about when Watford aren't playing. Don't get your knickers in a twist about it, there are other thigns to talk about other than football, and things not football related are NEVER found in General Watford. If it bothers you that much, don't read the rest of the site. Just read General Watford.
When I began this forum 2 years back, my intention was to create a community where we could talk as much about Watford, football and sport as much as about anything else we liked. Straight after "General Watford" was created, I made the "Luther Blisett Steam Room". We've grown since and the forum has stretched into many new areas, we're always experimenting to keep the community from going stale. The better the community and the way people feel about being here, then the higher the non football talk is going to be, we can't force it the other way or the place would soon turn to dust. Sometimes it's healthy to leave football alone for a while anyway. The point is this, the more relaxed people are at being here, then the more likely they are to get involved in a discussion, (or start a thread), about football or WFC related threads anyway, plus we've got over 300 active users, (edit:374!), which is extremely high for the vast majority of forums. You can't have one without the other. UEA and Hornmeister summed it up much better, but I just wanted to clarify a few bits and pieces. You're going to hate the new software VoR :dismay:. It's very community based.
There tends to be more talk about the football when things are going wrong - when there is something to debate. At the moment we have more points than some expected us to get and it is still early days so less reason to be upset
i think my focault comment did it better and first, whilst also delivering concise intelligent commentary to the enrichment of everyone. give me a pat on the back
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_conf/7604805.stm here's an unreported watford story that no doubt the massess would of missed without my trained eye
Thanks for your comments guys. I thought about answering all of them individually, but I will just give a general answer. Fundamentally I do not disagree with topics, other than football, being discussed on here, and at no time have I suggested that this should be the case. However, I do believe that football should be the "Primary" subject!!! As I said right at the beginning of this thread "Lets get back to Football". My reasons for saying that were that the board has been drifting more and more away from what I believe should be its primary subject "Football". Recently at times I have logged on and not one of the new posts have been about sport, let alone football and that is my beef!!! By the way I usually do hit the "Today's Footall" button, for those of you who have suggested that I do that, but often there is hardly anything to read there, which is rather frustrating on a Forum which is supposed to be about Football, hence my "RANT":rant::rant: All I am asking is that Football should be at the forefront of discussion and not what has been, especially over the last month or so!!!
I think, under Watford's current financial situation, the following phrase is a good one: No news is good news!
You conveniently forgot to use my whole quote fan, I believe that is called creative editing I think the part I have highlighted in red, kind of legates your superfluous comment smart arse
not really, seeing as alot of the comments are aimed at the bit i highlighted, vis a vis you and you alone defining the purpose of this board
If this was a gun fight in the street, and punctuation were bullets, I could have a picnic on a blanket in the middle of the intersection to watch the battle rage. Ooops I think I just shot someone PS Hartlepool over Cheltenham 4-1! Hooray for football!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't even know this was supposed to be a football forum. I thought it was the Wetland Feathered Chums Forum, but was perturbed about the lack of water fowl debate in recent weeks.
