Should be a doozy next week.

"Swivel Eye'd Loon" Nigel Farage and "Bearded Hypocrite" Russell Brand are both set to feature.

Please o please BBC try to get Boris Johnson as well and we'll have a full set.:sign15:

Get Boris on there, invite Jo Brand and Amanda Platell and then they could blow up the studio safe in the knowledge that the audience haven't died in vain.

Nah Russell will be backed up by his mum. How about.....
Russel Brand, Nigel Farage, Boris Johnson, Katie Hopkins & George Galloway?

This would have to be my all time legends 5-a-side Question time team.

I'm sure I saw that QT was in Watford in the new year ? Anyone know where it is being held/guests ?

Potentially good show but you can't leave out 'Mad' Melanie Phillips.

Excellent suggestion although I'd go for Hopkins, Farage, Johnson, Galloway, Brand. Surely Hopkins and Brand (with youth on their side) should be at right and left wing-back respectively, Farage and Galloway doing plenty of clogging and Johnson as an ample and looming presence who can do something unpredictable at any moment ...

Nick Griffin and Tommy Robinson should be there too Kelso. Piers Morgan too.

In fact out of Farage, Brand, Hopkins and Galloway, Piers is the most likeable.

Peter Hitchens is good value. Even though I disagree with him on nearly everything and he isn't a patch on his late brother.

Brand choked and made Farage look reasonably intelligent.

This episode really annoyed me. The privatisation of the NHS is happening and will only get worst under the new regulations and they brushed it a side as if it was nothing.

Brand was really poor. He seems to think that the louder he shouts over people, the better he looks!

I thought Brand was quite good, he was clearly trying to get his points across, but valid points nonetheless. People who don't like him will always just say he's poor because they don't agree with what he's saying. In the same way i thought farage was poor, becuase i disagree with his views.

No, he was just plain poor.

But you are right, I don't like him. He doesn't make me laugh and he is a hypocrite.

He is worth £15m yet buys his multi million £ overseas property through a Trust. Why would he do that, ask yourself? He is the Director of three million £ businesses, at least one of which runs a tax avoiding film partnership scheme. One of those businesses had a turnover of £1.5m and a profit of £800,000 or around a 55% margin.

Yet he proclaims to be a man of the people, bemoans tax avoidance, and talks about profit as if it is a dirty word.

Thought Penny Maudaunt came off well. She was in the room opposite me at uni halls of residence in my first year.
Farage seemed a little watered down almost as if he is being prepared for a coalition.
Brand apart from a couple of outbursts really didn't say much. I particularly enjoyed the part when he was called out by the audience.

Overall though a little disappointing considering what it could have been.

I think he is poor because he talks (and writes) complete gibberish, as opposed to me not agreeing with his views.

Camilla Cavendish was easily the most impressive. Stuck to the point throughout and with personal insight. Of course she was the least politicised of the five which would have helped.

I like the way he writes. Irreverent rambling but well constructed and clever use of words. He's also good in a one-on-one interview e.g. the 'Why it's not worth voting' one - although it won't stop me voting. I broadly agree with most of his other takes on political issues. He's also quite brave - totally open about what a prat he can be (with numerous examples)!

Where he fell down last night was that he'd turned up with the sole agenda of putting the boot in on Farage. Maybe that's what the BBC wanted though. A panto season QT. When he got challenged by specific questions and individuals in the audience having a go at him he was flailing around a bit. One thing he isn't is remotely funny as a comedian. So it beats me how he's got to where he is in the first place.

I think he's quite good as an actor. But that Revolution book just seems a teenage style ramble to me. Each to their own!

  34. GoingDown

    GoingDown "The Stability"

Watched it and it's been horribly overhyped in the media today. If anything Farage came out smelling of roses whilst Brand ended up looking like the faux-revolutionist he is.

'Stand for election' someone shouted, 'I worry I'll become just like them', he responded. Makes me wonder if he means that and he's not some rich guy pretending to be a man of the people to sell tickets and DVDs. Because if he does, hes basically saying that it can't be changed.

Which makes all of his words pointless.

    Pound Shop Che Guevara.

I thought Farage got off very lightly as he was just attacked with cliches, rather than specifics. Although Dimbleby had a couple of good questions for him. That women with blue hair was just awful!

He was clearly the better in that environment, self assured and confident, and said the right sort of things. I thought the Conservative women was not a good talker - hesitant and unsure, could have done a lot better, IMO. I thought the Labour women was pretty bad. She waited until her second sentence of the night before having a go (incorrectly, as it turned out) at Farage, and generally continued on the same tact throughout.

I also thought the journo women was quite good.
