The brown bear is dodgy to fins if you walk the wrong way , go to either aldgate , or aldgate east tube
I heard the Brown Bear public house was full of colour at the cup game with majority of watford fans there dressed out proudly in the yellow shirt. Well done lads.
Cant even get a beer with your mates, miles away from the ground without a load of freaks who dont know you wanting to turn up as well!
because the majority of these guys obviously have high standards and occupy priviliged positions in society. While shopping at waitrose and working in the city, its important to maintain a swish facade, which is why they turn up to games dressed exclusively in the latest range from harvey nicks and the like. or it could be, they just like to subdivide them in nonsense group after nonsense group.
Alot of pubs don't allow colours and this one is no different...a few pubs in Watford don't let you in with colours, and there are plenty in Southampton that don't let you in with colours! I find it cringeworthy watching fully grown men decked out in pi$$ stained nylon! If it floats your boat then that's your problem, and I feel your pain...however it's a personal preference not to wear colours...never have, never will...and all my mates are the same...it's hardly a unique opinion! Dom doesn't wear colours and neither does Guy...they feel the same way! I'm sure there are plenty of pubs near the ground that will allow you in with colours!
I know you have only seen me at games twice - but on either of those occasions was I wearing colours?? No! I don't wear colours to games! mainly because of avoiding trouble, when I first started going to football I got told not to wear them, then opposing fans won't know who you support and therefore you are less likely to run into any trouble and I have not changed from that. tbh I havent seen many pubs that won't let you in wearign colours - but then tbh i dont tend to wear them going to the pub. Where I live I doubt very much they would stop you entering a pub with a watford shirt on - mainly because they probably wouldnt even reconise it as a football shirt. I know that our colours are not really the most subtle of colours, but I guess I don't see why wearing them makes people freaks?? That is my point really, I don't get why some people find it so bad? I know I don't wear colours but I don't feel the need to slate people that do - or is this all taking the **** and it's gone straight over my head??
Can I just butt in at this point (and I have absolutely no interest in getting into correspondence on the subject),to say that the landlord of The Brown Bear is a personal friend and most of you would not even know it existed had I not drawn your attention to it in the first place a couple of weeks back. Birdy, Ivam and others, I can confirm that your type would not be welcome. Thanks.
