Remember that rumour that we chose Sarr over Saint-Maximin? Always makes me laugh.

Yes we were supposedly in for one or the other. At one point it looked like we might have to make do with the cheaper SM.

Probably one player who hasn’t improved under Howe though.

All relative ofcourse as he wasn’t bad before hand .

Do you remember relatively recently some fans saying we should get Howe in as manager? There is nothing like churning through 3 managers a season to lure a manger like that into a ‘project’ at Watford.

Palace were never going down, they have a very kind fixture list, they just shat themselves

Exactly this, would’ve been totally fine under Viera with their remaining fixtures.

They actually seemed to attack and create a lot yesterday which was surprising but yes Palace will pick up loads of points as even under Viera they weren't letting many goals in.

Just not scoring and made to pay (only lost to a penalty v Man C and an own goal v Villa for example) whereas the teams coming up probably won't do.

Maybe he and Rodgers can swap jobs ?!

Chelsea paid £22m compensation to BHA to get him - and he gets £45m pay off but I guess if the USA owners paid £2.5bn to buy Chelsea and commit another £1.75bn it’s small beer

I care nothing for Palace nowadays, any 'rivalry' is in the past, I'm just sad for Vieira as he was an up and coming manager who seemed do be doing a decent job, and yet they can him for an actual dinosaur

Football is just insane isn’t it, 7 months work and you get £45m for not doing a great job.

Seen a few people thinking we should go for Potter or Rodgers....why on earth would someone if their calibre come to a basket case of a club like Watford

    They wouldn’t, it’s delusional nonsense.

Anyone who thinks either manager would look twice at us as an option genuinely needs committing to the loony bin.

Both will have a Premier league job in no time .

Some fans are rather delusional as to what we are ..
And back in a job ASAP.

It’s why they never really complain now.

I don't have the ability to turn back time, but I bet if we signed St Maximin and they signed Sarr, their career trajectories would have been reversed

Probably - isn’t ASM a bit injury prone so would have been injured more here !

Chelsea spent £550m creating a bloated squad which was unmanageable because it had too many players who thought they were entitled to a place in the starting eleben. Team spirit was awful and so far this season two managers have paid the price for inept buying by people without a clue about what they were doing.

    Watford with bigger numbers.

Never understood why Potter was hired in the first place. Lampard showed that they needed a winner - Tuchel came in and proved it - then they go for a mid-table manager.

Potter screams Southampton to me. A nice, friendly environment for a nice, friendly man.

I immediately thought that, but might they now be in too great a danger of relegation for him? If he could get Maddison and Barnes firing at Leicester, that might be a better bet.

If I was Potter I’d just sit the remainder of the season out and see where things are then. Taking either the Southampton or Leicester jobs at this stage have huge downsides for him if they get relegated, there just really is no point.

I’d imagine taking a job immediately would compromise his massive payout too, so financially would make little sense as well.

Having seen the embarrassment of Harry Kane rolling on the floor, (and he is not the first to do so), after a minor push in the face. Should VAR review sending offs like this one? Surely simulation of being punched so hard you collapse, is worthy of overturning a red card?

Everton look like they will pull out of the dive to the Championship. It’s hard to call for the relegation three, but I am going for Southampton, Nottingham Forest and a heartbreak final day disaster for Bournemouth. Only Leicester look likely to bugger that prediction up.

Interesting on the Premier League managerial scene this close season. Kompany to Spurs, Potter to Burnley, Rogers to Luton?

Is there a medical update on the heroic England captain?

    Will he pull through?

Doucoure is a sap for getting involved and Kane did his familiar fall over as if been shot routine.

A change from his run halfway across Vicarage Road act, although that won't be repeated anytime soon!

Yes agree the predicted bottom 3 but I'd add Wolves into that mix rather than Leicester.

Was silly from Doucoure but Kane definitely made the most of it .

Spurs were rubbish with the extra man though .

Think it will be Southampton, Forest and Bournemouth.

I thought it was a brave performance by England captain Harry Kane. Isn’t that what you lot say during another embarrassing international tournament?

Mitrovic banned for 8 games - guess it’s 3 originally plus 5 added on including some for not leaving the pitch in good time .

Sets a standard but see if it’s maintained.

Seems harsh to me. Eight games is 20% of the season.
