Think it’s pretty unlikely anything will happen quickly if at all .

Did anyone see this on Twitter?

Apparently a letter from the club saying fans will be banned or demoted down categories if they don’t report anti social behaviour.

I presume they mean racism and homophonic chants rather than a few swear words being said .

The “threats “ have upset a lot of fans .

As you say, I think the reality of that e-mail is more nuanced - they are unlikely to be saying that those who fail to report will be punished, because that's ludicrous and rather difficult to prove. They are pretty clearly predominantly applying that to the first part, that says:

I think you have to be really looking for a grievance, as that tweeter is, to not use common sense enough to interpret it when reading that message, to be honest.

They do also seem to be of the belief that it's worse to 'grass at football' than to allow homophobic/racist chants/language/whatever, though, so it's not a million percent surprising.

True - I did get that impression.

Sadly there have been a few issues with away support maybe not helped by the on field stuff but obviously no excuse for personal insults and naturally stuff that is bang out of order in any walk of life .

Will be interesting to see what they put out before the next home game if we get shafted today.

Not surprising at all after they signed all our crap for inflated fees, but Udinese haven’t won a single game yet, and have only scored 4 goals.

With both clubs looking likely to be in a relegation fight, I wonder if the penny will finally drop that they are terrible owners with how they currently run things.

Just to think the fall from grace from 2019, chasing Europe and an FA Cup final, to now and any owner with common sense would look inwardly first.

Sadly the Pozzo family are to stubborn to admit they were/are wrong and change it. We’re still signing Mogi and Giaretta crap, and it’s exactly why we deserve to be where we are. Same with Udinese, feel sorry for their fans having to watch our former mental midgets trudge out for them every weekend.

If both clubs do get relegated you would hope that they will sell both clubs and we can be rid of this tyrant and his band of brothers.

Must admit it would be nice to get some singings who have a regular positive impact on the team !

When was the last time we had that .?

Now no one can get the recruiting totally right but we’ve brought some right rubbish or ones who have previously done well or have gone on to .

Is that down to the fact often end up having 3/4 managers to work with and learn from ?

If and when Ismael goes someone like Porteous and Hodet will be on their 4th manager in a year !

I don’t understand why posters think that failure for WFC and Udinese makes the Pozzos leaving more likely. The clubs will both be at their lowest value in the last 10 years. As an owner/investor why would you sell at the lowest value ? You’d have to practically give the clubs away and wave goodbye to recovering any of the funding you’ve put in ? Unless you manage to find another stupid investor like the Red Helmet, that is.

I agree, although Gino's issue is that in order to build the profile of us and Udinese back up, he needs to invest or find a way to fix what he's broken in the last few years. I do not follow Udinese, but we know how much money has been wasted throughout his reign with us. There is no way he can ever get that back unless he receives massive windfall of finance from some other source, and even if he did, he would still have to mend a lot of broken relationships with the fanbase and get us back in the black in a financial sense. A very tall order for any businessman. This probably means he will be here for a while yet and even if we did get relegated this season, our value would drop even further and he would then be faced with a decision on whether or not to sell us at our peak value upon relegation if a buyer became available at some point. Honestly, if somebody did come in for us and was able to insure he got his £50M investment back, he would leap at the chance. For now, he has dug his own grave so to speak and he has to decide how much further he can possibly take us on such limitations.

It's just not really a done thing. If you go to the media and "air the dirty laundry" for thousands of people to read then future clubs may be scared of him doing the same which ultimately will lead to fewer opportunities, so most managers tend to keep quiet about what's happened

Plus I suppose being sacked is an occupational hazard in their line of work, hardly a career ender, and if they've got a good agent they'll have softened the blow somewhat by negotiating a decent financial pay off.

So the interview is basically Bilic saying that Duxbury, Pozzo and Giaretta are all great but that Manga and Costa's arrivals in January messed everything up and things became 'confused and overcrowded'. Interesting timing to say the very least and I'm sure we can all work out why this interview has been published at this particular moment.

Pretty much what someone on here said they got told by ****s.

I do remember he did complain a lot about the transfers but that shouldn’t just be down to Manga.

Watford Observer are just a Pozzo/Duxbury propaganda mouthpiece. What a coincidence releasing an interview from a long departed coach casting bad light on Manga the day they fire him!!!!

But hey the good news is Scott and Giaretta are top top people. Huzzah!!

I must admit, it certainly looks suspicious. I’m sure AF will declare nothing could be further from the truth, but he’s left himself open to that criticism with the timing of this………hence the disclaimer in advance Bilic didn’t want to give an interview until now. I could understand him not wanting to talk until the season finished, but choosing this particular international break seems a little bit too coincidental.

So in summary, Gino, Duxbury and Giaretta are all very good, and want the best for the club. Also the players are affected by fans moaning about the ownership.

Bad news for the bedwetters, courtesy of Pozzo mouthpiece Slaven Bilic

I am absolutely certain Andrew can speak for himself here, but I do know that the Bilic interview was done a week ago, well before the rumour that Manga might be on his way towards the exit (that's still to be confirmed) had entered the public domain.

I think it’s pretty clear that the club ideally wanted this interview out before the Manga rumour entered the public domain but were beaten to the punch by the Italian journalist yesterday.

Would the club even be aware of this interview? What was AF's handle when he signed up here?
  32. EnjoytheGame

Again, Andrew can more than adequately speak for himself and it's nothing to do with me other than that professionally I find it difficult to see things said that aren't quite right without attempting to correct the record... As I understand it, the club didn't have anything to do with the interview whatsoever. Bilic is no longer their employee and it's up to him if and when he wants to speak to a journalist.

@wfc4ever – From experience I'd guess it's more a case of publishing deadlines and managing content (horrible word) flow. Last week was a week with two first team games. This is the start of an international break and a multi-part interview with a recent manager is a very decent way to plug the gap without a match.

As for the comments from Bilic, if the recruitment meetings were crowded whose fault is that? Pozzo brings in a new scouting unit but still insists on having Giaretta involved. Either bring in a scouting team and give them power and freedom from your stooge, or don’t.

Reads like Manga was trying to bring in one type of player but Bilic wanted another (ready made players who could come into the team - cites Archer for example and a couple Luton got) which is probably why he found it confusing as one minutes we were thinking about getting x in then the next buying a totally different sort of player.

I know managers don't get much say in transfers but you'd think the club would make sure he and the new man coming in were on the same page regarding recruiting.

I also liked the confidence that Bilic had that Giaretta had all these top first team players ready to join at the touch of a button. Giaretta, the man who brought in Gaspar, Bayo and Manaj for Edwards 6 months earlier and before that used the premier funds on Kalu, Okoye and Kayembe.
