And there we have it. Ucko says he's part of the group asked. And then confirms in his comments that none of what is spoken about in these meetings will be made public unless the club say so. People will say this is a step in the right direction - but to me, it looks more like fan forums without transparency to ALL fans.
Looks like the only logical response is to start a bedwetters pod. The COGs have more than a dozen handpicked reps. I guess without social media clout, you’re nothing in the eyes of the club.

Genuinely though, are you surprised? The 1881, FTRE et al invited. Yes men. The club don’t want any difficult questions. Yet another PR own goal.
The club clearly know that there is fan unrest on social media. They could have gone a long way to getting people back onside by showing the slightest bit of interest in our opinion. Even getting Duxbury or Gino on that Hive programme and actually answering a few questions would appease a lot of people.
Dunno what you're all getting worked up about, the meeting note for the first one is really detailed: The first committee meeting took place on Thursday March 31 where questions were put to Chairman & CEO Scott Duxbury, Finance Director Emiliano Russo, Head of Communications & Media Relations Richard Walker and Supporter Liaison Officer Meg Clarkson during a very frank two-hour discussion. In attendance were representatives from 14 different supporter voices, who provided both general topics they’d like to be covered on the night as well as having the chance to ask specific questions.
I know they say people can sign up but that must be limited too ? I mean what if 5,000 wanted to join in or even 500.

The idea is good as long as those attending aren’t having to follow a script. I can foresee Duxbury coming out with drivel about knowing where they made mistakes again and we will do all to get promoted again. I assume all the blame will be hidden under the covid banner. Although it’s been a huge part of all clubs finances recently, we have not been relegated because of covid. Risking PL status is more to do with their stubbornness with transfers. Other clubs seem to have improved season after season while we just self destruct. My question to the owners is are they losing interest?

Duxbury isn't going to bother with his end of season statement, he's just going to dictate it to the dribblers in this meeting. They'll then jump on their podcasts and social media to tell us that lessons truly have been learnt and that the future is bright for Watford Football Club.

I said something similar in a thread on here a few weeks back and I’m going to say it again now… The club are openly courting a ‘politburo’ type group of loyal lickspittles who they believe will grant them an air of legitimacy and insulate them from the wider unrest and legitimate concerns of the fanbase It’s not a positive move in the right direction, it’s the desperate flailing of a regime who have lost control of the narrative. This will not end well, the people at the top are panicking and clutching at straws
100% they do, I know this for a fact. When I had discussions with the club after the 1881 leaked my private details to a moron supporter they told me as much.
Yes - think the criticisms was why the old site got closed down. Probably nothing compared to now though!
Ah, so they openly are aware of supporters issues with the club, but enjoy the whole ostrich approach to it all.
What I find just bizarre (but not really) is that why can’t the club hold these meetings and give everyone the chance to attend? I’m sure we can accept that not everyone can expect to attend - but everyone should have an equal opportunity to at the very least, rather than the same names and faces every time plus a select few who get chosen. How can that be right? Ucko has suggested they have been chosen because of their ‘presence’ - which would be fine if the club didn’t already have a far bigger reach than any of these other outlets. There is no reason why any of these groups should be there over any one of us - unless the group/committee is being held close by the club for its own ends. The fact it’s been admitted already that they can’t speak freely after meetings and can only speak with the clubs say so absolutely stinks.
I've only gone and looked after your tip-off here and his response and justifications for it are hilarious - properly party line 'nothing to see here' reframing stuff.
Not to downplay anyone who’s has mental health struggles, but what’s that got to do with the price of fish in this instance? The club have deliberately and callously picked the perfect combination of simpering yes men who won’t challenge the status quo or ask any difficult questions - and the fact that those who attending these secret meetings think it’s acceptable to say they can’t discuss anything ‘without the green light from the club’ is laughable. Our club is now wilfully gaslighting it’s own supporters. Do people actually think this is ok?
Well, people who get given a player's shirt a full time totally at random (honest guv) think it's OK. And that's all that matters. Good things happen to good people.
