    From the Watford VitalFootball website:

"Any thoughts Watford boss Brendan Rodgers might have had in taking fellow Northern Irishman Marc Wilson on loan from Pompey has been put quickly to bed by Tony Adams.

The Sun had linked the highly regarded 21-year old Portsmouth defender with a short term loan move to Watford earlier in the week (ok, it slipped our radar too) and given Rodgers does want to bolster the defence this one looked like it had legs…

Unfortunately not so in the eyes of Tony Adams though who is unwilling to release the youngster and insists young Wilson is in the plans at Fratton Park.

Adams said of the Northern Irish defender, who made his Pompey debut against Chelsea in the Carling Cup, "Marc is too close to the first team to loan him out. He did well against Heerenveen in the UEFA Cup and we can`t keep sheets at the moment".

Wilson had previously had loan spells at Yeovil and Bournemouth before having the unfortunate pleasure of spending last Christmas at the Kennel at on loan at Blue Square Premier side Luton Down…

At -30, brrr…he must have been cold!"
