It’s going to be longer than that. The fans from the supporters groups will want their moment of fame, so all questions posed will be aired in full.

 

As I said one thing that winds me up more than Pozzo it’s those FTRE blokes. This thread has so many triggers it has me over a barrel twitching. After next week I can go back to sleep for the summer.

 

The event will be moderated by Peter Remnant of DNSYE. Good luck to Peter - I hope you’re able to hold Gino to account. While many on here will say that they wish they the opportunity to moderate the discussion, I suspect that it is a most unenviable task indeed.

 

Not allowing the Watford Observer is there is a smoking gun. Can't believe people were claiming Andrew French just wanted to break exclusive news, more like he is the main conduit between information from internal corridors to the bulk of normal folk. Historically the full notes from Fans Forums were communicated by the WO and they provided an uncensored portrayal of proceedings.

I'm fed up with these freaks who run podcasts speaking about 0-1 defeats for a living thinking they represent lifelong fans who got by fine for decades without them.

 

You can't have every fan in the room, obviously.

It's clear that the club won't agree to a live feed as they don't want whatever they deem "commercially sensitive" to be released and it would be ill advised for the podcasts to live broadcast anything libellous (what if one of the questions calls Bayat a crook, he's already shown in other countries he's not afraid to sue people?).

Andrew French could be in the room but he's already been very clear that any live blog he would do would exclude anything commercially sensitive or personal. So as long as the podders' interpretation is the same as French's there would be no additional info withheld from the masses that aren't in the room.

But even if there was, French has also confirmed that he will receive an unedited audio version for him to write stories on the next morning. So even if the podders left out a nugget they erroneously considered commercially sensitive, French could still report it.

As long as the ballot is as fair as they say it's going to be, I don't really see there's that much to complain about.

To be clear, I would've allowed French in if it was down to me. The podders seem to have made the call to drive traffic to their shows. But I also doubt French is doing this completely altruistically, it would be good for website hits if he's there and he probably (rightly) feels a bit shafted after going on their podcasts a few times during the season.

But all this wailing and gnashing of teeth about not hearing the whole meeting seems a bit hysterical to me.

 

Personally, I'm totally uninterested in podcasts per se. The very raison d'etre of most of them is self-aggrandisement of the creator(s).
And a lot of the content isn't even comprehensible English.

 

Actually, this guy is excellent in how he comes across on the podcast. Very fair and even handed. Tolerant of everyone’s view and non judgemental.

 

The hilarious part is that this is one, of two meetings they’re supposed to meet us over per season.

Imagine this twice a season.

 

FTRE, in particular are a toxic parasite on this club and have been emboldened by the behaviours Gino Pozzo has brought about.

The sheer arrogance of them in particular is disgraceful and should be turfed out of the club just as fast as Pozzo & Duxbury should be.

A fair point and the fact they've been dragged to this after failing to comply with the requirement two seasons in a row shouldn't be overlooked.

I get the impression Duxbury is a people pleaser, hope someone puts him on the spot about having some sort of fan representation on the Board or a shadow board like some other clubs do. Although that would lead to another series of bitter rows about who the representatives would be...

The EFL requirement is that owner or CEO have to attend. Suspect Duxbury will have to pitch up to all future ones and Pozzo won't ever be seen again (if he even turns up to this one...)

 

I suspect financial specifics. If Pozzo and Duxbury don't discuss them anyway, all good.

The point is really that I don't think FTRE are going to deliberately chop interesting discussions out of the audio to fulfil some sense of self-importance.

 

Or Latin. Or French.

For the record - I’m not part of DNSYE team just a casual contributor in the same way I’ve been a forum member here for over 15 years .

Im also neither simply a clapper , sycophant , hater or miserable *******.

I self identify with all those states at relevant times based on my own observations , considerations and form my own non sheep view.

On this particular one . I like Andrew a lot but he’s got this wrong and it’s possibly his paywall opportunity blurring his view on this — but given the people who have set this up have got this far against all odds and cynicism and belief it couldn’t be done it’s pretty rich of him or others to behave like this.

im weathered enough to know that this is a bad as it was in 1994 sitting watching Grimsby thrash is at home with only 5000 of us there . But equally we have had the best of times only a short while ago whilst that was 7 years after our only other peak.

I don't think seals can clap. Might be wrong but I don't think they can manipulate their flippers like sealions can.

 

perhaps they just can't hear it when their trainer says "Sammy, please give us a big clap for the all the little boys and girls"

 

I really enjoyed the DYNE post match Twitter spaces last season (albeit I listen to it through Spotify). Furthermore, I really respect them for going out of there way to set this whole thing up.

With that said, I was under the impression that despite there not being a live audio broadcast of the event, it would be posted the next day in full. I don't think anyone had any issues with this and seemed fair enough for everyone sat at home.

All of a sudden - FTRE have somehow got involved with this "Supporters Group" and now it's been stipulated that not only is the audio going to be "edited" but the fantastic Mr Andrew French won't be there (which seems a bit harsh given the amount of time he has dedicated to other productions outside the WO but that's a moot point). There is absolutely no sound reasoning or logically explanation for this.

Of course, given the above it does raise concerns on how much will be edited out for "commercial reasons". If Duxburry/Pozzo can't answer a question, they should say "I can't answer that, for this reason etc..."

Although the bizarre twist is that the club haven't instructed that the audio is edited nor for the WO being barred from the event.

At least it's produced some laughs for me though. I've been sniggering at justified outrage and the frankly strange/possibly sneaky reasoning by "The Supporters Group".

In some ways, I hope the audio is about 10 minutes long and heavily redacted with FTRE especially going full boot licking mood. I would be in tears of laughter.

Random non podcast people have been notified of their attendance being confirmed ahead of the event.

That's another one off the naysayers list of doom.

 

Worth pointing out FTRE have always been in 'The Supporters Group', along with the Supporter's Trust and an eclectic mix of other fan groups. Even the Cayman Island Hornets are in it.
