FROM THE NEWS OF THE WORLD l know but here we go.. watford HAVE MADE A BID FOR OF 1.5 MILLiON FOR SCUNTHORPE STRIKER BILLY SHARP. with 17 goals to his credit this season, sharp has brought premiership scouts flocking to glanford park.( no other reason to go there, its a dump). liverpool have also been eying the 20 year old, with boss rafa benitez keen to bolster his sqaud next month.
Not sure he's right, we need someone to make an instant impact and to jump from league one to premiership and have an impact takes time (something we don't have). Just look at DJ Campbell. Fired goals in for Brentford for fun in legaue one, went to Birmingham and did very little.
He might well be playing in the Championshio anyway with his current side although we would do much better than Scunthorpe if we did go down and earned promotion.
Don't forget though Chewitt that DJ Campbell had only come from non-league in the August and by January he was playing for Brum. Bigger leap. I'd say Sharpe was the perfect signing: he's young, got a good track record, is highly rated and won't cost a bundle.
Thats right.... big difference from non-league Yeading to Premiership Birmingham city! That is one player I would love to see in a watford shirt... i think he would fit in very nicely to our way of playing and given the right feed knows how to find the net. I remember the major problems he caused us in the friendly against Yeading a few years ago!!
Yes mate but he only spent 4 months at League 1 Brentford having previously plied his trade with Yeading. Hardly enough time to adapt properly.
er it was done to help someone who had not seen it. they started a new one on the same idea, and asked for a bump.
