well, i had a great day. a few sherbets on the 9.00 up, met the loyal supporters
in the union bar. pya birdy jobr cude etc,a few more to be had in there.
off off to the ground, up 7 flights of stairs, to c us turned over again.

not to worry left early, back to the union, and then off home with a train full of pi@@ed hornets.

the pubs are great, and the home fans are pretty dam good

must praise the geordies, who i found once again, very friendly, and the watford fans, who were very well behaved, even after having a shed load to drink.
    ;D :D :) ;D :D :) ;D :D :)

Same old story from our point of view...good performance and some decent chances created but we let a point at worse slip away at the death again.

Great ground but the atmopshere wasn't as loud as I thought it might be.

Shittu,Mahon,Bangura and Bouazza all played well.

Sadly its all too much to hope for a striker to save us I fear.

Most of the Newcastle guys had good praise for us (expect a bloke on the 606 site it seems who thought we hacked all their players and just wacked the ball long...not sure what game he was watching!)

Agree with Watford 1990. I was listening online to 3CR and our fans were very loud throughout the match. Good show!

Nice to see a few old faces.

Policing in the ground was way OTT

Good trip back on the train with Gav, Al, Ben, James, rollsy and the club doctor.

    Hi Mate

    excellent day out.

loads of beers on the train up, straight in to the pub for a few more.

Got ejected 5 mins from the end for reacting to a load of abuse from the Northerners following the second goal. Dragged out waving my wallet singing "sign on".

Good crack on the train back with the players.

Superb weekend, shame about the result but the rest was excellent. We were 2nd row from the back and the guys behind us stood the whole game so it was good to be able to do the same. Left side - right side was funny, especially when it confused the h3ll out of the geordies ;D

Geordies who we went out with that night said they could hear us clearly, which is not the same for all Premiership teams! Plus they told us that from the highest point of the away end to the furthest away goal is quarter of a mile, no wonder we didn't have a clue who scored it ;)

Thought their support was poor? Best moment of the weekend, (apart from the goal and apart from taking the pee out of their scarf waving stupidity), was seeing 20 geordie lasses in mini skirt santa outfits and bugger all else walking down the street last night as it was trying to snow, and I left my camera at home

I'll try my hand at a blog for the_ivams area later.

    I'm always well behaved...

Cracking day out...our support was sensational! Our last 2 away games at City and Newcastle have been our best this season in terms of atmosphere! What's all this away fans can't be heard at newcastle? We were certainly heard ;D

We're the left side, we're the left side, we're the left side over here...

Fulham away will be a good one mate, i'll be making my way from Aylesbury so ill meet you lot down there! We'll have to get the South Coast Party Bus on the go again for some away games next year mate! O0

Too right mate. Not only is sveryone going to be wrecked from the night before but those twelve o clock kick offs have a habbit of turning into long drinking sessions!

Long drinking sessions that start far too early for my liking (Palace away in play-offs)!

You said it mate! I'm not normally so badly behaved at home games but I can see myself being totally twatted by the time I get to Watford on boxing day! coming from my parents house the trains will be full of Arsenal fans! Could be fun! No doubt its a good thing ill be travelling on my own!

had a great day too. really good atmosphere. Shame about the result though, but i think i might have seen a little watford magic on the pitch just briefly.

Lol....can't make boxing day sadly so will have to watch it on sky....when are you due back in Southampton? We'll have to sort out something for Manure away aswell...perhaps a mini bus could be the way forward?

  32. GscottW

    GscottW Reservist

Due back down South from about Jan 3rd mate. A fun bus for Manure sounds good mate, work permitting Im sure the rest of the SC lads would be up for it? You stll speak to Steve cos he likes to organise buses?? Think I'm seeing Dom and that on boxing day so ill mention it to them then!

  33. Bubble

    Bubble Wise Oracle

Haven't spoken to Steve about it yet, but i'll probably give him a call tomorrow about it.

Do you reckon the lads would mind picking Goomy up from St.Albans and dropping him back?

I think most of them should be up for it, like you say work permitting...if we can't get enough people then perhaps we could just look at trains/hotels up there instead?

  34. GscottW

    GscottW Reservist

Yeah I'm sure that wouldnt be a problem. Its (kind of) on the way!;D I should imagine most of the lads will try and book the next day off work but I've been keeping my head down of late and not spoken to anyone since Sheffield United. If not then yeah a cheapy hotel and a night down the curry mile!
Aston Villa should be my only no-show in January hopefully!O0

Good stuff fella...speak to the lads at Arsenhole and i'll bell Clampy tomorrow and suggest it.

You've missed two sensational atmospheres away from home recently chap :(

Hopefully the same lads that have been at City and Newcastle will be there for Foolham on new years day...
