New Kit - 22/23

The third kit looks a bit like Newcastle Utd's hand-me-downs. Not a fan.

 

I was going to say that, in fairness, surely that nod would be much clearer/more appropriate if it was a deep royal blue, rather than a type of blue we have never actually played in, but then I double-checked and it turns out that between 1883 and 1889 we played in a half-and-half number that featured both royal and sky blue, so what do I know? And, just think about it; before that, we didn't even have a club to make kit for!



Those with the keenest eyes will note that even blue was at times preferred as a secondary option for the shorts, over the unsightly horror of red.

My unironic campaign to resurrect the 1889-1897 kits begins tonight.

I'm not a fan. Looks too much like Everton.

Think I prefer the black and white third kit over this. Might be better in the flesh maybe.

 

Kelme do not miss.

As an aside, I noticed yesterday that Everton are now also sponsored by Stake.

 

That a lovely kit, will be purchasing for the first time in 4 years.

Quite like the away kit, just a shame about the bloody sponsor being so big.

Horrible, looks like a training top. Hated the last blue one we had too the colours so boring, home kit is gorgeous though so not bad from Kelme this year.

 

As I do every year, I rail against it being called an 'away strip'. It should be a change strip and we should be proud to wear our true colours away from home whenever possible.

 

1st choice.Retro throw back. Plain
2nd choice . An Everton knock off, plain and boring. Last year's training top.
3rd choice. Looks good.

 

I think I'm heading towards buying home shirt and maybe get the other 2 in the end of season sale if there are any left on a half price or 2 for 1 deal!

 

Out of interest, for those who buy replica shirts, when do you wear them? Is it just at matches or also as a 'leisure' item on some occasions?

 

I just collect them. I almost never wear them, maybe to the odd game when it's nice weather.

 

Not a fan any of last years kits, but this years kits are all great. I just wish we had a better sponsor, the font is horrific and really takes away from a quality designed shirt. If we had a formal logo sponsor such as standard chartered, the kits would be absolute bangers

 

Not a fan of wearing the kit anyways but I'm tempted to buy the third shirt.

For me there are four stages.

Stage 1. To games for that season.
Stage 2. Leisurely when just chilling round the house or garden.
Stage 3. For running or 5-a-side football.
Stage 4. Once rinsed enough, into the drawer with all the others that I'll look back on one day and wonder how much money I threw away on bloody replica shirts!

 

I go straight to stage 3. Never worn a shirt to a game.

I usually buy the shorts for running and set them off with one of my collection of random shirts of teams I've watched on holiday. Picked up some lovely Borac Banja Luka, VVV Venlo and Partizan Belgrade home shirts recently, plus I've laid my hands on a couple of Armenia shirts in memory of my gran.
