    500M would turn us into a mini Top Six side. But Xisco has done very well so far on a shoe string budget in such torrid times. Now with a bit of cash, he fully deserves to see if he can keep us in the EPL for at least two seasons. If we can survive next season, he may get more of a pot to seed his own side.

    He had what must comfortably be one of the three most expensively-assembled sides ever in the league at his disposal, including a single £40m attacker :confused:

    Don't get me wrong, I still think the lack of investment in January was a significant-enough gamble that eventually came off, but I just think it's more than a tad generous to characterise Xisco's experience as one involving a team that were in any way 'shoestring'...
