Astonishing that he would admit this ........... http://www.skysports.com/football/n...ce=t.co&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=Direct "Even in the Premier League, I still smile at the first time I came across Roy Keane," Clattenburg told NBC's Men in Blazers podcast. "He screamed at us for a corner and I'm sure it was a goal kick but because he screamed at us so loudly, I gave a corner. I was that petrified of him."
Really digging the knife in to his former employers isn't he? None of what it says here or his actions in the Spurs game are a surprise at all. Referee's are a law into themselves, mainly because there is little to no punishment for being bad. There's about three good referees in Premier League. The rest range from awful to diabolical.
Sorry to go all highgrade, but Roy keane was the most phoney hard man the game has ever seen I reckon. Imagine being scared of him!
And we wonder why players do abuse the officials so much? - generally because if they are a big name or play for a big club it works in their favour. Cannot remember the last time somebody got sent off for dissent despite there being a big "respect campaign" and stronger punishments outlined?
