Yes but my guess is he has a formal role for the club in finding homes for those no longer required. If he doesn't, and just happened to be used to give the bad news to troost then I agree.
Which of itself suggests Mogi is not ‘simply an agent we use, like many other agents.’ So that was a downright lie peddled at the ‘parlaci’. He is used as an employee of the club when it suits GP.
The crux of the matter is ‘value for who’? Being ‘of value’ to GP does not directly equate to being ‘of value’ to the historic WFC.
That just about sums up Duxbury and his whole attitude to the culture of the club. He's the DOF, he should be concerned that we used a crooked agent. he should be concerned about what our accounts look like. But hey, I'm just a random nobody who loves this club. You do you Scott.
I think it's not unture to say that. He is an agent we use. We do use other agents. He's never an employee of the club. You don't have to be an employee to work for the club.
Presumably WFC ? Or Gino directly if he pays him for personal consultancy ? Even if he is paid for by the club but provides services outside the club to Gino it sort of doesn't matter given Gino has put so much of his own money into the club, he could have put £30k less in and paid Bayat directly.
A CEO wouldn't usually get involved in that level of detail. I'd assume that SD might for example tell Giaretta/Manga he's out, but not individual players.
But as you have said, football clubs are different; and Fuxbury is very keen to stress his involvement in all the transfers & contracts, which by your criterion should be outside the remit of the CEO. It can’t be both at the same time.
No I think he avoided answering that particular part of a long winded Q which is better than outright lying. IMHO.
I really don't think it;s the CEOs role to tell every player they are being made available or an offer has been accepted. Surely that's the recruitment depts responsibility ?
Which also ignores the inference of ‘the historic WFC’ rather than ‘WFC=GP’, which is still the crux of the issue.
I am interested in WHY he was so keen to waffle his way out. He was clearly hiding something uncomfortable, which is the very reason for the dissembling in the first place.
Sorry not sure what you are saying. Are you saying that you think Bayat is doing work for Gino that doesn't benefit WFC, and that Gino should have put less money in and paid Bayat directly ?
But he doesn't represent Troost and isn't employed by the club so why is he the one to tell Troost. He may well be brokering the deal but that shouldn't mean he informs players that are not his of what is going on
Are you now saying Mogi is part of the ‘recruitment dept’ of WFC? Does that not make him an employee?
I’m suggesting the suspicion has to be entertained that your first comment is extremely possible. As to your second, that could easily be handled between GP and Mogi at a distance from WFC, but that does not seem to be the case.
No it doesn't. He can have a role, even a key role, without being an employee as my fellow director at my employer does. self employed.
Maybe not, but it definitely means he is NOT ‘just like any other agent’ used by the club, which is the main issue with the ‘economy with the truth’ exhibited at the ‘parlaci’.
Does your fellow director know you are spending all of this time on the forum during working hours today? He may want a quiet word, even if he is not an employee.
Whether it’s a direct lie or not isn’t really worth debating - Gino’s line of ‘we have no particular preference for any agent’ is obviously not the truth given one agent acts as intermediary on deals where he doesn’t even represent the player in question, is often seen at games sat with the owner wearing club branded clothing and is contacting our players unawares telling me they are free to move clubs. Unless you think Gino offers those services out to any random agents, he’s clearly lied, not avoided the question.
Not sure where he said those exact words but he did the fllowing which looks less sinsister in context: "Agents have become an important part of our everyday business. We have agents who want to bring players out even if you want to keep them. Of course need to be connected with agents that will help us. We have no particular preference of any agent. We just look for the guy who will bring us at good value. The agent at the end is not the one who is out on the pitch. “We have more interest in the player than the agent. The agent will make a deal happen based on his strengths, his interests and his ability to influence a player. Mr Mogi is just one of the agents that we use. He has been developing his ability in France and Belgium."
I assume he's talking about which agent we buy from in that context, no ? "Agents have become an important part of our everyday business. We have agents who want to bring players out even if you want to keep them. Of course need to be connected with agents that will help us. We have no particular preference of any agent. We just look for the guy who will bring us at good value. The agent at the end is not the one who is out on the pitch."
Makes it even more depressing seeing him sat next to Gino in the directors box most home games. "Just another agent..." Probably have each other on speed dial in case something happens. We had one of most astute scouts in football in Manga and his team and threw that all away. I know we are skint, but who is to say we wouldn't of had a better Summer going forward with him leading the scouting/transfers? Yes it's all "if buts and maybe's" but anything is better than Bayat. He isn't going anywhere though until his bestie goes first.
I don't see anywhere that he's explicitly rebutted. More that he's ignored the points to which he disagrees, which in my opinion is not as bad.
We have no particular preference for any agent IN A CERTAIN UNDEFINED CIRCUMSTANCE. Until that specific circumstance is spelled out and disproven, then no, Gino cannot be accused of lying,
