As much as it pains me to say it, surelybhis new contract entitles me to a free holiday in Thailand and my full page apology as promised?!
The surest sign yet that the club believe there is nothing wrong with the way we defend in games and will spend accordingly. Those backing Gracia to do well with better, newer defenders are off to a shaky start!
Hahaha. Looks like we’re keeping the same incompetent defensive line of buffoons for next season. Prospect midfielders incoming.
We can only hope that, knowing we need to sign better defenders, but have so far been unable to do so, they are covering themselves just in case they are unable to. Just because they have given Miguel an extension does not mean that they can't still let him go. If they thought he was the answer, I think they would have tried to get him to sign for longer than the one year. So, in short, stop worrying you lot!!
Sorry, but as I’ve said elsewhere, if our recruitment team cannot sign better than Britos or Holebas, then they too need to be replaced. If the confidence in the recruitment plans and the people leading them are that low that these players get contract extensions, then we have a bigger problem going on.
Mazzari might be interested in signing Britos according to an article on the Wobby site. Lets hope it's true as although Britos has been a reasonable player for us, it is probably time to replace him as he is not getting any younger, he's (33).
He might be more effective in Italy where it's less physical and a bit slower so not a bad move all round if it comes off.
Young Mr Britos' days at the club are coming to an end. He misses the parties in Uruguay and is heading home in the summer: https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...o-return-to-uruguay-at-the-end-of-the-season/
Fair play Miguel. A hugely important figure in keeping us up in our first two seasons. Good luck. A nice reminder that footballers are human beings and it isn't easy to live away from home, especially when there are no breaks and (amazingly) Britos has never been capped so no fleeting visits either.
His first season with us, he played very well, but had a bit of a dip over the past couple of seasons, however, this year he's performed well when called on. He's a very nice chap off the pitch and a very good pro. One of those good eggs in and around the place.
Good luck to him. Cant fault his commitment whenever he has played and hasnt thrown is toys out the pram when being out of the team
Strange how Brighton fans never seem to cause a fuss over it calling us all sorts of names like the Palace mob do.
A doctor writes,"When you jump up and down as much as they do it can cause permanent damage to the egg and chips, clear thinking is the casualty". Next week how to stay vertical on grass.
Proved me absolutely wrong this season. An able backup when called upon. Good luck for the future Britos.
Excellent to see him kicking back already & modelling the Holebas autumn range. Well played that man.
Was ready to write off Britos after that 'tackle' but he's proved me wrong when he's stepped into the team this year. Overall, will be fondly remembered, best wishes Miguel!
I'd imagine it was top of the agenda anyway, but we really do need some fresh faces at the back now. With Britos off and Pr*dl a forgotten man (who I'm guessing will probably be off in the summer too), that leaves us with arguably 3 'proper' centre-backs
