Seeing as we're after attacking midfield cover for Abdi, perhaps we should have a look at this lad.

Udinese Primavera and Swedish u21. Made a ton of appearances in the Allsvenskan despite only being 19.

    Is he any good Sherlock?

From all reports of Udinese fans who follow closely the Primavera team and from what I've seen when the Primavera matches are on Udinese channel, he's VERY good!
He was already often of the bench of first team, although he had not yet his debut. He played in Europa League last season, so Primavera team is maybe too "low" for him.
I have the impression he's destined to be in Udinese's first team next season, but who knows?
If the Pozzo's, the involved managers and Guidolin as supervisor think the best for him and for all is WFC, maybe he might be there in January already.

Sherlock - could you seen anyone (other than Hallberg) from Udinese's Primavera team possibly making the move to WFC in January?

In my somewhat limited opinion, only Hallberg, and at a push Vutov are what we could do with. Vutov is still too raw though imo. I still won't rest until we get Zielinski though!

To the untrained eye, it could look like you were just listing exotic fruits, here.

In January, I really don't know and I doubt that there will be such movements, but who knows.
Yet as I wrote in the Udinese thread, our Primavera team this season is full of young talents. They are not doing yet so well in the tournment, as they didn't gel and play still as individuals rather than as a team, but seeing the Primavera play sometimes on Udinese channel I could clearly see some of them are very promising talents and already above an U19 tournment and ready for greater challenges.

But as first team in serie A must be a mix of youngs and more experienced, not all of them will find space in Udinese next season and most of them will no more be eligible to play in U19 tournment (and that would be also a waste of their talent), so I fully expect some of them will go on loan somewhere to "grow" or, if they are deemed apt for English football, they will land at WFC.

The names of U20 to remember for the future, in the roster of http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/udinese-primavera/startseite/verein/10959 or http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/udinese-calcio/startseite/verein/410 are:
    Meret 17 (Ita) GK
    Perisan 17 (Ita) GK
    Bochniewicz 18 (Pol) CB
    Pontisso 17 (Ita) def. mid.
    Jankto 18 (Czech) center mid.
    Jaadi 18 (Bel) RW
    Matic 17 (Slo) RW
    Vutov 18 (Bul) sec. striker
    Prtain 18 (Cro) first striker
    Hallberg 19 (Swe) center mid.
    Fernandes 20 (Por) att. mid.
    Evangelista 19 (Bra) att. mid.
    Zapata 19 (Col) left mid.
and of course, for the future, Armenakas 16 who only recently had FIFA clearance to play.

Probably not all of them will fulfill expectations, but it looks like a promising bunch of young players.
