Sorry..reading it back I realise my earlier post didn't make much sense lol What I meant was, it would be nice to think the powers that be were hard at work making changes to the squad now SJ's had a few games in charge to take a look at the players he inherited, as a way of making us better after a couple of bad results. If Mcguan's loan is the first of a series of 'we don't think you're quite good enough/attitude not quite right' departures to be followed by some quality new additions in January, it'll be worth it in the long run, although short-term I share the concerns about our midfield looking less deep now should we get injuries, which we seems to have done fairly consistently all season so far. Sorry about the double dutch earlier.
I've heard Pozzo has been plotting an Italian Job heist. A crack team of Deeney, Abdi, Fessi and Lloyd have been sent to smuggle Batto from tthe evil clutches of Virtus Entella.
According to Peter Beagrie there's no one better in the Championship from a dead ball situation than Lewis. Fml we should have kept McGugan and got rid of Tozser!
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/watfordfc/watfordfcnews/11670792._/? Watford will consider bids for Sheffield Wednesday loanee Lewis McGugan in January Don't think we'll see him in a Watford shirt again.
I think he's worth at least 1 million, and I reckon if people looked purely at his goals last season, a desperate Championship club would pay that.
For 10+ goals a season he's definitely worth that to replace a CM who doesn't add much. He's just unlucky that we have three CMs with much more to their game.
Thanks for everything McGugan, especially last season. No place in the team for him as a regular starter. Good luck elsewhere.
Should be a good option for the likes of Burnley to add an extra option for the run in.... They'll have a limited budget to back up their squad.
It looks increasingly likely McGugan has been a negative influence behind the scenes and the club want to get rid. I wouldn't be too surprised to see Dyer leave as well.
Why not do that in August, which more than likely would have led to us keeping Sannino? Would have saved a lot of hassle and possibly promotion.
The faith the club have in Munari and Tozser to replace McGugan's goals and assists last season is admirable.
Lewis McGugan 13/14 Goals: 10 Lewis McGugan 13/14 Assists: 6 Abdi+Munari 14/15 goals: 8 Abdi+Munari 14/15 Assists: 4 Still 25 games to play. Whoosh?
Lewis is just one of those players who can give you a moment of brilliance. It's just a shame those moments were drowned out by 92 odd minutes of mediocrity. He certainly wouldn't be taking free kicks or penalties this year, and I'm sure Munari AND Abdi might even match get the 7 or so goals that McGugan would get if he actually played, let alone was on the bench where he belonged.
Also it should be pointed out that Tozser is a lot better than McGugan at free kicks, which is basically his only tradeable skill.
His free kicks were ****. How many kids must he have knocked out in the middle family stand last year?
If he put the team down maybe the more talented players could have ran across the finish line by themselves.
This time last year our midfield was something along the lines of McGugan, Battocchio and Thorne, unless I'm forgetting an obvious one. Compared to Abdi, Munari and Tozser, it's basically sunday league. The three of them will comfortably triple our goals from midfield of last year.
Also, only one man carried the team last year. Troy Deeney. That's why Troy will be playing in the Premier League soon, and McGugan is at Sheffield Wednesday.
