http://www.cardiffcityforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=156280 Cardiff fans think it's an awful decision on their part
I think it's ore about his mentality for knowing how to get promoted than his on the pitch quality. What a guy to have around the squad. A man who knows how to get promoted will surely rub off on other players.
He's under contract with them until 2017 so definitely an odd one. I can only guess we've paid a fair chunk.
Their fans suggest he's out of contract Anyway I won't judge either way - i'm normally proved wrong (I was v excited about Merkel due to a German friend raving about him...)
Yeah, that's why I looked it up. Signed a new deal last October for two years as his contract was originally up this season.
Maybe he forgot to dot the "I's" and cross the "t's" or we've done a Malky on them (like with Don Cowie)
Never heard of him. If he's a natural left back or a 20 goal a season striker, then good. Otherwise I don't really see the point.
Opinion looks split to me, a bit like with Watson an Wigan. Which of course turned out very well for us.
Crikey, an Englishman with Championship experience and we're top of the league. Pozzo's really doing their best to give us absolutely nothing to complain about.
Loan deal is subject to International clearance, as his registration comes under the Welsh FA. Another foreign loan player joining us. That should please Hollowhead.
This must be another Matthew Connolly who plays for Cardiff then... http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...ardiff-city-centre-back-matt-connolly-7867237
Ha, Ha! Very Good. I took that from Transfer Markt, which is obviously not up to date http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/matthew-connolly/profil/spieler/34559
Of all the inevitable comments made whenever we sign a player it is this one which I detest the absolute most.
Excellent signing. I've just had a little look at what their fans are saying, and to say they are not happy is putting it mildly. Was it only 4 years ago these same fans were happily gloating as they pillaged our club? Can't help but smile about this.
Since Nani went, our recruitment policy has been transformed. We're now getting good players with Champ/Prem experience who will give us more selection options further forward - no need to leave someone like Munari out of the squad to meet the home-grown quota. The try-before-you-buy policy worked well with Watson and I expect it to work with Connolly. Defence is the weakest part of our team, with Ek and Angella both prone to loss of concentration, and Joker seems to be preparing for a cull. Hopefully Watford will get a top-class left-footed back in once we know what division we're in next season.
