Watford want to sign Arsenal keeper Lukasz Fabianski on a years loan as replacement for Ben Foster. The polish keeper joins the Gunners this summer as No.2 to Jens Lehmann. (Mirror)
Just done a quick search on You Tube and found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEIdZORCJ9c Looks interesting.
We really need to get a player brought in, and not on loan to fill the goal. Ben Foster was fantastic, but now hes going its going to be a huge loss, and I personally don't really want that. I want someone whos going to be reliable year in year out. If we get this fellar on loan I think we should be wanting the option to buy at the end of the season, minimum.
Are you having a laugh? Buying Fabianski at the end of the season? I am 100% certain he will not come to us, not even on loan. Arsenal have brought him in to be their number 1.
Yeah i dont think you should loan him, i feel buyin a keeper you wont worry about a replacement when the loan finishs like with ben foster now. My recommendation would be Hedmen from chelsea he may look for 1st team football.
Fair comment, but i feel we need someone younger than Hedman. I also feel that Hedman is know better than Richard Lee, also, having been at Chelsea would he take a pay cut?
Never heard of him, but if Arsenal are in for him he can't be too shabby! I'd rather sign a permanent keeper though! Would like to see one of Carlo Nash, Boaz Myhill or Stuart Taylor here!
Although i'd rather we signed a keeper, we may as well loan if the loan offer is better. In theory a signed goal keeper will be here longer, but Foster has actually played for us in as many seasons as some of our own keepers have done in the past. Also if the keeper we sign is that good someone will try and sign him off us anyway (yes i know we'd then get money...)
Are you guys kidding, that don't want another loan ??? Take a look at the link shown in brightonhornets post. If Arsenal are willing to loan him to us for the whole season we should snatch their arms off. This guy makes Ben look 2nd rate, he looks absolutely brilliant in the youtube clip.
And given two years of footage I bet someone could make a 3 minute clip of Foster's brilliant moments too! It's not like the guy compiling the clip will include any howlers or average saves. Anyway, I can't see it happening. I think we need to use our kudos with Man Utd and see who we can get our hands on.
Music makes him look good Thanks for forcing me to look at the link, he does look very good, though I have to admit i hadn't heard of him before today! As i say if the loan keeper is better than any signing on offer we may as well go for it because we still have Lee and Loach as back-up
Hedman is actually retired and only signed for Chelsea because they were in desperate need of a 'keeper. Fabianski would be great, even if it's only a loan.
Surely Arsenal wouldnt loan out their second choice keeper. Foster was number 3 at United. No sensible team lets their second choice keeper go for a year!
And like Aidy has said on the official site today, When asked what the main selling point is, he replied: "That we can bounce back, that we're a progressive club and that we can develop players. "I will point out to clubs that you can loan players here, point to Ben Foster, and say to other clubs that you can loan players and you'll know that they come and develop. "They'll get experience that they might not get in the reserves and I'll say we want to win and we're hungry. I think it could be a possibility and I wouldnt mind us loaning another keeper if we cant get any better.
thats what i was thinking - he looks amazing - hes a year younger than foster, so in a few years we could be seeing battles like the schmeichal lehman ones befoe. ofcouse they would be over 2nd and 3rd place as we'd be top
Fraid to say the Fabianski deal is a no go. My Polish mate out here told me that it's been all over the media back there and when asked about it Fabianski stated that he'd heard nothing about it but regardless that it's not 'part of the deal' for him going to Arsenal and he expect to fight for his place there next season. He has no interest in a loan move elsewhere.
